2021-02-04 16:06:13 UTC

Yeah is so nice. I can stand no problem. I was on it maybe 5 minutes and I could stand and cast.@sixfivebyfiftyfive

2021-02-04 16:16:20 UTC

nice. I can stand in mine too cause its super short and wide, but its is really slow and difficult to paddle in choppy water.

2021-02-04 16:19:24 UTC

I was on the potomac river a few winters back, and the wind and tide were both coming in. I just made it super hard to go anywhere down river, and it didn't help that the wind was causing a lot of chop. We moving slower than people on shore were walking. My dad's boat, which is slightly longer and more areo-dynamic, was at least able to cut through the chop, but my boat just got tossed around like a flap-jack.

I havent taken it out on choppy water

2021-02-04 16:22:50 UTC

Yeah it's alot of fun. I enjoy it alot. I just decided to spend more money on this one instead of buying a cheaper one. Then having to buy the more expensive one later.

I'm interested in getting into hunting but don't know any hunters so it's all a bit overwhelming. Where do I start?

2021-02-05 14:34:09 UTC

Hunter's Ed. You have to take it in most states, and they really help get you educated as to that the laws and regulations are for hunting and fishing.

2021-02-05 14:35:10 UTC

They have free courses online sometimes, other times you have to go in-person and there might be a small fee, but it usually is pretty reasonable. And the fee almost always is used directly for state-managed conservation projects that really help out hunters and fisherman.

2021-02-05 14:35:15 UTC

fishermen*

2021-02-05 14:35:59 UTC

Thats about the extent of the advice I can offer, I got my hunter's ed cert., but I never got the opportunity to hunt. I do fish quite a bit though.

2021-02-05 15:18:12 UTC

Same most of the time its hard to go hunting because all the land is owned and its hard to get a lease and noone will add you to a lease

2021-02-05 15:23:36 UTC

Thanks I'll look into it. Sorry I meant to add that I'm in Washington state.

2021-02-05 15:58:42 UTC

assblaster fr. Where I live now (NOVA), we have a lot of public land that you can get certified to bow hunt on, because we have trouble with the deer over-populating, but I don't have an adequate bow set-up. If I stay here a few more years, I'll def get a bow, but rifle hunting is a no-go unless you have private land here. :/

2021-02-05 16:00:26 UTC

wdfa.gov is gonna be a gold-mine for hunting laws and regulations

2021-02-05 16:00:37 UTC

I advise you thuroughly read up on it.
