I'm interested in getting into hunting but don't know any hunters so it's all a bit overwhelming. Where do I start?

2021-02-05 14:34:09 UTC

Hunter's Ed. You have to take it in most states, and they really help get you educated as to that the laws and regulations are for hunting and fishing.

2021-02-05 14:35:10 UTC

They have free courses online sometimes, other times you have to go in-person and there might be a small fee, but it usually is pretty reasonable. And the fee almost always is used directly for state-managed conservation projects that really help out hunters and fisherman.

2021-02-05 14:35:15 UTC

fishermen*

2021-02-05 14:35:59 UTC

Thats about the extent of the advice I can offer, I got my hunter's ed cert., but I never got the opportunity to hunt. I do fish quite a bit though.

2021-02-05 15:18:12 UTC

Same most of the time its hard to go hunting because all the land is owned and its hard to get a lease and noone will add you to a lease

2021-02-05 15:23:36 UTC

Thanks I'll look into it. Sorry I meant to add that I'm in Washington state.

2021-02-05 15:58:42 UTC

assblaster fr. Where I live now (NOVA), we have a lot of public land that you can get certified to bow hunt on, because we have trouble with the deer over-populating, but I don't have an adequate bow set-up. If I stay here a few more years, I'll def get a bow, but rifle hunting is a no-go unless you have private land here. :/

2021-02-05 16:00:26 UTC

wdfa.gov is gonna be a gold-mine for hunting laws and regulations

2021-02-05 16:00:37 UTC

I advise you thuroughly read up on it.

2021-02-05 16:02:30 UTC

and if you ever go out of state to hunt or fish, find that state's official department of wildlife and fisheries website. e.g., VA would be VDGIF.gov and Texas would be TXWD.gov

2021-02-05 16:04:04 UTC

If anyone ever questions what your doing, if you have read up on the official website, you can pull up any law or regulation pertaining to what your doing, and I kid you not you'll end arguments with SJW karens so frkn fast if u can do that.

2021-02-05 16:04:54 UTC

Hm?

2021-02-05 16:05:12 UTC

I'm Indian, I don't need to follow hunting laws so meh

2021-02-05 16:05:17 UTC

Can't even tell you the number of times I have been fishing and had some nosy no-good douche tell me I can't fish in certain spot or ask if my bait is legal, etc, etc. <:KEK:795742276549607456> knowing your laws and regs, and being able to pull em up is critical.

2021-02-05 16:05:26 UTC

lol, good on u

2021-02-05 16:06:01 UTC

"You can't do that without a licence"

2021-02-05 16:06:10 UTC

I'm an Indian so suck my dick

2021-02-05 16:06:23 UTC

lmao.

2021-02-05 16:06:36 UTC

bro karens that be like "show me your fishing liscense if you really have one"

2021-02-05 16:06:47 UTC

like no, your not a law enforcement officer.

2021-02-05 16:07:02 UTC

I be like "Here's my revolver, wanna keep asking questions?"

2021-02-05 16:08:08 UTC

Remember furries don't identify as human, so it's perfectly legal to hunt them.

2021-02-05 16:08:58 UTC

legit though, i don't mind people politely inquiring as to what i'm doing or the legality of something, but if ur gonna be a dick about it, we might have issues.

2021-02-05 16:09:18 UTC

I have a problem with them inquiring

2021-02-05 16:09:34 UTC

Mind your own fucking business

2021-02-05 16:10:08 UTC

that's how I go about it. 90% of fishermen and 100% of hunters want to be left tf alone. Don't poke em. :/

2021-02-05 16:11:25 UTC

legit though, game wardens seem like the nicest people. idky, but its the park rangers that kill me. They technically have jurisdiction to enforce regulations in many places, but they almost never seem to know the law.

2021-02-05 16:11:29 UTC

or they just make shit up

2021-02-05 16:11:41 UTC

I just ignore em

2021-02-05 16:12:06 UTC

"Go get a real cop then come back to me pussy" is my usual response.

2021-02-05 16:13:40 UTC

Stupid fucking game wardens

2021-02-05 16:13:58 UTC

dude, this one ranger told me she was gonna write me a $500 ticket because I was poaching in an "sensitive ecosystem." I politely apologized, said I was unaware, and grabbed my stuff. She than got snarky and said "well you should have known, its posted on the sign over there!!" But bro, the sign said nothing about fishing. It said no swimming.

2021-02-05 16:14:25 UTC

Well that's because she's a woman
