So if they *hadn’t* pushed back the UN, I would have been astonished
Mhm
Considering it was a fighting retreat, the UN did very well
Oh yeah. But it was still brutal.
Largest and most successful evacuation by sea in US history. The worst winter combat in US history and a Marine division fighting 4:1 odds and making it out
One survivor made a comment along the lines of “it was like watching 5 of your friends die, wonder how you made it past THAT ambush...looking back now, it’s a wonder any of us made it out alive”
Myanmars military just staged a coup against its leader
as in today?
my dad had me watch the 6 minute cut of the yuri bezmenov interview. Man was it worrying. I'll watch the whole thing at some point, but it def worth checking out
I wouldn't have been *that* astonished. The Finnish faced worse odds during the Winter War. A lot depends on how well the opposing troops are lead, rather than just how many there are.
It goes quickly, fascinating interview.
I had watched the full 40 minute interview, dam thing is both scary as fuck but very insightful on whats going on today
this is great
was looking up the proposed 28th amendment and it lead to this golden article
Which one
There are a number of proposed 28th amendments
will grab the article
this is the trash one
That one is trash
this one is good https://apnews.com/article/62a8b65326e2434c91e605c1fa983875 but it would require the states to pass it by 3/4 majority in the legislature which will NEVER happen
as much as I HATE the AP and the bulk of the article is ragging on a couple of states
basically paragraph 3 and paragraph 5 are what matter will copy/paste here
mendments must be proposed by two-thirds of both houses of Congress, or by a constitutional convention convened by two-thirds of the state legislatures. The latter has never happened (all 27 amendments have been proposed by Congress), but, in either case, a three-fourths majority of the state legislatures (or conventions) is required to ratify.
I take that back P3 and P5/6 are what matter
Stated simply, the 28th Amendment would not allow Congress to make any laws that apply to American citizens that don’t apply equally to the members of Congress. And it would preclude them from making any laws that apply to themselves, but don’t apply to all U.S. citizens. No longer could they exempt themselves from prosecution for sexual harassment or from the health care reform they pass for the rest of the country. They couldn’t retire at full pay after just one term, and their children would be required to pay back their college loans, just like everyone else.
This amendment would move the congressional retirement fund into the Social Security system, in which representatives would participate like ordinary citizens. And legislators could no longer vote their own pay raises. Instead, they’d receive 3 percent annually or the Consumer Price Index (CPI), whichever is lower. And they’d receive no pay after leaving office, so they’d go back to being ordinary working stiffs, like the rest of us.
wow that is a really really bad amendment....
hopefully there are other proposals for a 28th amendment
huh I think it sounds good. maybe i'm reading it wrong but equal rights for us and our "leaders" sounds good to me
We will never have the same equality as our leaders...
Look, they want to remove or fine the hell out of our firearms..,yet they have triad professionals with said firearms guarding the, right now
yikes
Wtf is wrong with him?
Im with dixie on this one
28th amendment isn't coming without a "reset" of some description other than the one all the bigwigs are hoping for. But it's good to have in the back pocket for such an occasion. We need that shit yesterday.
