@UltraRichterian | PST the CFAL would like to speak with you.

2021-01-21 06:32:58 UTC

Get an AR-15 or similar carbine.

2021-01-21 06:33:00 UTC

@ViolentLotus1 my suggestion to anyone looking for their first gun is to buy what you are most comfortable with. A firearm is useless if you aren’t comfortable shooting it

2021-01-21 06:33:03 UTC

The FAL is slightly better as the rate of fire is higher

2021-01-21 06:33:16 UTC

The CFAL is even better

2021-01-21 06:33:25 UTC

Making it more possible to actualy put a round on target before your are 15 inches above the target,

2021-01-21 06:33:34 UTC

&Actually*

2021-01-21 06:33:56 UTC

Yeah a Handgun is comfortable and practical for what I want to use it for.

2021-01-21 06:34:22 UTC

The full auto fal was incredibly hard to control, the semi auto version worked better in more situations

2021-01-21 06:34:26 UTC

Legitimately, I would recommend a 12 guage shotgun, pump action, or one of those nice semi-autos. It will definitely be better for home defense unless you are absolutely proficient with your firearms and performing under stress.

A handgun is a nice second. Short, portable and easily concealable.

2021-01-21 06:34:50 UTC

M14 was stupidly difficult to control on full auto, the FAL was no different

2021-01-21 06:35:01 UTC

The FAL was still better

2021-01-21 06:35:17 UTC

No, it made practically no difference

2021-01-21 06:35:25 UTC

You got one bullet on target with the M-14, you got 3 with the FAL.

2021-01-21 06:35:25 UTC

They were both incredibly uncontrollable

2021-01-21 06:35:32 UTC

Then it was anyone's guess

2021-01-21 06:35:43 UTC

I feel a rifle would be a little to big for such a smaller space. I would rather use a rifle for hunting but if I have a rifle or handgun close by, I would grab the closest one.

2021-01-21 06:36:04 UTC

Grab a handgun you are comfortable operating

2021-01-21 06:36:11 UTC

Mhm

2021-01-21 06:36:21 UTC

Experience matters most

2021-01-21 06:36:36 UTC

I can see that

2021-01-21 06:36:46 UTC

Personally I shoot my revolvers best. So that’s what’s on my nightstand

2021-01-21 06:37:05 UTC

Also in standard engagement ranges, the accuracy differences were minimal

2021-01-21 06:37:06 UTC

*Laughs in full length rifle.*

2021-01-21 06:37:33 UTC

I have a 10.5 inch AR pistol, which is great for smaller spaces, but my go to would still be a handgun because I can keep it close by and I know that .45 hollow points are not going to go through both a person and a wall.

2021-01-21 06:37:41 UTC

You know you broke into the wrong house when someone bayonet charges you with a WW1 rifle

2021-01-21 06:38:11 UTC

Lol get stabbed with mosin bayonet

2021-01-21 06:38:12 UTC

I am in the near future probably going to do some shooting range trips to try out some handguns and rifles I might like. Im looking for a comfortable and practical handgun/rifle to use if someone breaks into my home.

2021-01-21 06:38:29 UTC

Ross Rifle with a bayonet affixed

2021-01-21 06:38:35 UTC

Fack you

2021-01-21 06:38:39 UTC

I’m confused what you mean by full length rifle

2021-01-21 06:38:42 UTC

Stupid Canadian

2021-01-21 06:38:53 UTC

The FAL was almost always shorter than the M14 barrel wise

2021-01-21 06:38:54 UTC

Well there's carbines, then there's full length rifles

2021-01-21 06:39:07 UTC

@Lyte I was referring to the home defense

2021-01-21 06:39:23 UTC

Not the FAL and M-14

2021-01-21 06:39:23 UTC

Ah

2021-01-21 06:39:29 UTC

Do you actually use a full length rifle inside? Lol. How big is your house?!

2021-01-21 06:39:34 UTC

Well thank you all for your advice, I’ll make sure to use it and find whats most comfortable

2021-01-21 06:39:45 UTC

@Miater it's a small apartment
