2021-02-02 12:46:13 UTC

I spelt his name wrong on purpose

2021-02-02 12:46:18 UTC

wait- are you at least 16?

2021-02-02 12:46:38 UTC

To use ANY weapon against a person (including, cellphone, keys, stick, etc.) is a criminal offence

2021-02-02 12:46:44 UTC

I am 16. turning 17 soon.

2021-02-02 12:46:51 UTC

well, not exactly

2021-02-02 12:47:02 UTC

you can use reasonable force in self defence

2021-02-02 12:47:07 UTC

"reasonable levels of force" witch is up to a judge.

2021-02-02 12:47:28 UTC

yes, and a reasonable judge will be fine

2021-02-02 12:47:54 UTC

if you kill a guy who is unarmed, yeah- that is excessive

2021-02-02 12:48:10 UTC

if you dont try and get away first, that could be an issue

2021-02-02 12:48:22 UTC

I heard a case from a friend (not sure 100% since he did like to say shit.)

2021-02-02 12:49:03 UTC

that a person had his wife and daughter sexually assaulted and murdered, he shot the gun and was arrested (again my friend loved to tell me random and some times false crap.)

2021-02-02 12:49:12 UTC

hmm

2021-02-02 12:49:31 UTC

he may have been arrrested and then let go- cuz they needed to find out what happened

2021-02-02 12:49:32 UTC

first

2021-02-02 12:49:50 UTC

he would not have been charged

2021-02-02 12:49:55 UTC

successfully

2021-02-02 12:49:56 UTC

I'm looking it up

2021-02-02 12:50:02 UTC

what province

2021-02-02 12:50:04 UTC

(Something I should have done already..)

2021-02-02 12:50:10 UTC

Looking it up

2021-02-02 12:50:10 UTC

🙂

2021-02-02 12:50:17 UTC

k

2021-02-02 12:51:12 UTC

Me?

2021-02-02 12:51:14 UTC

Ontario.

2021-02-02 12:52:01 UTC

Generally, Canadian law gives residents a wide latitude to legally use violence to defend their home.

2021-02-02 12:52:06 UTC

no the case, which province

2021-02-02 12:52:21 UTC

criminal code= violence is entirely legal if someone has “reasonable grounds” to believe that the “threat of force is being made against them or another person.”

2021-02-02 12:52:44 UTC

If you’re defending yourself against a violent attack and there is no other way to escape death or serious injury, then you can use an unlimited amount of violence to stop it

2021-02-02 12:53:06 UTC

but it depends on each circumstance

2021-02-02 12:53:34 UTC

also.....

2021-02-02 12:53:37 UTC

Yes, but the courts like to fuck over gun owners,

2021-02-02 12:53:42 UTC

just as much as the liberal party.

2021-02-02 12:53:47 UTC

Canada even has a de facto “stand your ground” law. Nobody in Canada has an obligation to retreat when their home is involved. If an intruder comes through the front door with an axe, no judge will ever question why a homeowner didn’t simply escape out the back door.

2021-02-02 12:54:15 UTC

Sorry to but into your conversation here but is it true that Glock has special Canadian guns

2021-02-02 12:54:17 UTC

Gilbert Budgell, the 53-year-old man whose home they were allegedly invading, is now in police custody facing the unusually severe charge of second-degree murder.
