i think the base line of all the problems on USA society is "god is watching you bahave" and society is moving on from that. you need to be good to be a good moral person. not because a god will punish you.

the bible is not a science book. the bible was a nice little book to follow while humanity was sunk on the middle age. while the church ruled over humanity and kept knowledge only for themselves, the society was acting like vikings but with catholic faith.
