I have a question for our LDS friends, which i asked three times and im yet to get an answer, did joseph smith get any of his prophecies wrong?
I can't believe you didn't assume my gender isn't obvious that I am a male!
Not a LDS member but Joseph uttered a close-dated, unconditional prophecy that failed to come true.
Rather than going on a mission with the Twelve the following spring as Joseph Smith had prophesied in 1838, Patten died in the prior year.
This prophecy, along with the prophecy of the Independence Temple, is a strong example of a close-dated, unconditional prophecy which failed to come true.
Deuteronomy 18:20-22 But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.
And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken?
When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.
Thank you very much, according to the bible joseph smith was a false prophet
Yup
There many more.
Joseph Smith predicts in 1835 that, “The coming of the Lord, which was nigh – even fifty-six years should wind up the scene” (History of the Church, Vol. 2 p. 182).
Basically saying jesus chirst should come in 56 years but here's the fun part on how they defend joesph Smith
Although the Lord did not return by 1891, Joseph Smith only said fifty-six years “should” wind up the scene. The word “should” provides Joseph with an escape clause; it allows for the possibility something could happen to upset the original time schedule. Therefore, even though the prediction did not come true, this prophecy alone does not necessarily make Joseph Smith a false prophet. Christians cannot look at open-dated prophecies and judge the prophetic status of Joseph Smith.
Oh that is just irritating
Its like changing the rules when you lose
Yea it is
Like psalm 137:9
True.
GOD represents the Rock right? @Jt
It's a straight forward psalm verse where the singer prays for God to strike down israel's enemies. It's a curse disguised as a prayer in a song (poetry).
It was an "eye for and eye and tooth for a tooth" culture, chances are that the singer in this pslam saw that being done to them by their enemies.
can i be christian but like femboy furries at the same time?
