He tells us to trust in Him or to trust in ourselves
Trusting in ourselves will end up in the worst situation.
that makes no sense
I think the only one here who trusts in himself is you.
one one side ur sayin trust him and let him do his work
and then ur sayin u must also do ur part
aight then ima do my part in defending my self
so yes im going to keep a gun
not trusting gun over god
im doing my part
I trust in God and his plan but I also know that he gives us the means to provide and protect ourselves.
I didn't say you couldn't have a gun; I said you must follow the will of God; and God's will is not for you to have something else to protect yourself; God's will could also be that you do not work so that you can do His work
It's all in His plan
There nothing wrong with depending on God. And as Christian we should. But God has given us knowledge
u said that by having a gun you are not trusting that god can protect u
Luke 22:36-38 says two swords (guns). 😉 😉
Yes, because God said that he will protect you.
Having a gun for self-defense*
How do you know that his plan isn't for me to save another follower by killing the evil person who is trying to hurt a child of God.
that makes no sense
Hunting sports?
That's like saying a gun has no other purpose than to kill
all christians or catholics if they did not fight back in the previous times would've been exterminated
No, a sword has no purpose in hunting sports.
thats why the crusades were important i mean
Much like Sampson protected the Israelites from the Palestinians.
When it's comes to self defense I think you are taking the term literally. It also include protecting other such as your family and friends
Not true the Christians during the time of Nero did not protect themselves, and instead lived on.
it didn't really work well for them tho?
They lived knowing God will protect them
And it worked out fine in the end.
their populations were low as hell
until Constantine the great came along
That's actually not true Christianity was spreading like a wildfire during that period of time
Constantine the great came along and made it encouraged.
That actually stopped the spread, because people outside considered it a "roman religion"
outside of the roman empire*
Persecution makes us stronger, and God will reward us for it.
I think u mean the ones that survived nero lived on...the ones that didn't get tossed to the lions, or lit up as human candles brought us Christianity.
And Christianity spread so fast the emperor couldn't deal with it
