Good point
We love and trust God, but we also admire and respect saints.
From my point of vue at least.
I can love and respect fellow believers without praying to them
I see.
No where in the Bible does it say to pray to anyone except God. Even when Jesus was teaching and someone said “Blessed be Your mother, Mary” he rebuked her for saying this
I like the idea these people were humans like us who did great things. God is absolute, but I personally find it sort of reassuring to try to connect to people who had a life. It completes God's message I would say.
You can connect to them by reading about them and studying them, sure. But it is not ok to pray to them as if they were God. On top of that, there’s no biblical evidence that they can hear prayers, and they certainly don’t have the power to do anything about it.
We know for a fact they are not godly figures, and praying is deeper than reading about somebody's story.
Side note, that is very interesting. Besides my mother, I do not have the occasion to talk about these kinds of matter with a Protestant.
Prayer to anyone except God is idolatry
God wants you to communicate with Him. You don't need the help of anyone to talk to God
I do not need help to talk to God. If I want to, I pray Him. Matters with saints are... different.
It ok to respect and admire the "saints". Learn from their mistakes or their good works. But talking to them to help you talk to God is dumb. No offense
I disagree. Saints are part of the religion, they are not god, yes, but they can be praised.
Praise as in admire or worship?
God is love
None taken. You are right, Catholics do that. But I guess I am a minority, as I do not seek their help to talk to God.
We do both with saints, though it can never be as deep and powerful as God's worship.
No you’re never supposed to worship saints, but you can ask for their prayers
God still loves you regardless of whether you are an American-loving patriot or an SJW blue-hair'd Twitter addict with gender pronouns in your bio.
Ah, english is not my mother tongue, so maybe I mistranslated worship?

What's your main language?
Nice
:) Can I ask you folks what is your branch of Christianism?
I'm protestants, pentecostal
God is the Ultimate Judge. He does pass judgement. Perfect Judgement.
Non-denominational, but leaning towards Catholicism. And yours?
If they repent and accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Repent, meaning turn away from their sins and follow the Word of God.
Yes, He will accept you, but not for who you are in yourself, but for who you are in Him.
Catholic in practise. But my mother was a pentecostalist and my paternal grandfather was a calvinist.
What are your views on abortion? Do you think you can be a Christian and support killing the voiceless?
Where did the topic of abortion come from lol
F1xy thinks that God will accept you for who you are. But He says that one must come through Jesus to be accepted.
It doesn't matter what you did but it does matter who you are.
Yes, but you must turn away from sin and repent.
By turning away from sin and repenting you are effectively a new person, reborn in Christ.
So God is accepting the reborn you not the sinful you
NO, Jesus washes us clean of all of our sins. We are completely reborn.
smh
