It's not a loss if you sell at a profit

yeah they can't charge you if you sold it at a profit, but I'm wondering like long term when they start investigating and being like "look at all these people that bought in at 180 (or more) and never sold. I bet they did it intentionally as market manipulation, nobody's that autistic"
but you sold at a loss last week LOL
no I didn't, not GME
smokie did
I sold Disney at a loss
I try not to sell anything at a loss (for obvious reasons) but bigger reason is because I don't want to buy back in as a wash and have it be some jacked up price
think the reasoning behind that is so you don't claim the realized loss on your taxes, yet still made money off that same company
I sold so I could use the money to make more than the loss i sold for. Have to have money to make money and I needed funds to move.
so they bump up the price to make up the loss than what it was at current market value
Sold at an 80$ loss but made a few hundred off the stock I purchased.
So again, not a loss if you profit

Then it was easy to just buy back in at or around the price I sold for.
Then poof. Profit happened today on it
👍
Simply holding might work, but it can also fail miserably.
made 275 bucks today, which is sort of my limit on "if every day were like this, I'll quit my job" level of making money
Lmao!
like I said, oil and gas have been good to me
I made 370 on just amc and gme today.
Sold em and will wait for the dip
Put the $ into btc, or Ada, or enj.
Haven't decided yet
Then watch the stocks... and sell my coin at a profit to buy the stock dip
Lol.
I put 100 into NOV just cause. @Revaeroski
Waiting to see what it does.
getting real tempted to use some leverage, I haven't used any of it yet
Up 5$ on the week...
but I know as soon as I use it, we'll see "great depression part 2" and I'll get margin calls up the ass
Yeap!
Seeing all that unused buying power though... very tempting
I guess it won't hurt if I use it a little bit...
I keep bouncing funds, just knowing it's gonna happen... that last coin dip had me scared
Hope the stocks don't take too big of a hit after the stimulus
whens that?
Its not going to be great depression 2.0. We have more similarities to post WW2 than 1929. Bond holders are going to get bent over the table and gaped. Debt will be inflated away
From the end of WW2 on real yields were negative for 20+ years
