Honestly sounds like the engine is just aging and getting wear ad tear as it goes along
Is there anything I can do to keep it in one piece and improve the performance back to how it was? Or is it not worth it...?
Getting a new engine
They all develop wear and lose mpg overtime
A new engine?
How?
What engine?
What will even fit?
Talked to another friend, he said to do some basic work on somethings that will help. Oil and fluid changes, air filter, spark plugs, and that kind of thing.
Very old header

How old Is your header? Mine is 50
Mine is probably from the 70s or the 80s

It's gonna be getting a set of some beautiful, chrome hooker sidepipes
kinda like the 427s had no?
You can get them for big blocks
The factory style pipes are different though
she's in good condition, gotta love fiberglass that was kept out of the sun
You'd be surprised. This car needs almost everything
everything i can see on the drivers side looks decent, not the best picture though
The chassis is in very good shape, save for a few dings. The engine is healthy. The body from the windshield back is in good condition until you get to the tail light panel in back
Just about everything else needs to be replaced, rebuilt or otherwise tended to
She's rockin a built M21 muncie 4-speed with a hurst shifter, CNC machined aluminum midplate and a whole host of other goodies intended to make this thing handle upwards of 500+ horsepower
