We have a woman in my diesel mechanics class. She's better than some dudes.

Wouldn’t worry too much about whether you fit in as much as whether you know what you’re doing.

I'd recommend taking some classes at a community college to kind of feel out what you might enjoy, and a lot of them do have woodworking, mechanics, electrician stuff, all of it.
