^ good starter books
Medieval history I recently read Dan Jones the plantagenents
This covers the Crusades up to just before the war of the roses from the English monarchies perspective
gives you good historical context for English saints
I'll start with these books, thanks @Georges_Cross and @Callaghan.
@Deleted User 33b75db0 don't actually read guns germs and steel, it was a meme lol
Oh, lmao. I didn't know.
his argument is that the reasons civillizations and peoples have come to be the way they are, is purely, or at least 90%, due to their environment
iirc
Didn't know that he thought that, glad I didn't waste my time reading it.

There were a lot of Jews in the confederacy
Even more than in the Union
Were these Jews coming during the mass immigration from Eastern Europe? If not, it would be really interesting to see where these antebellum Jews originated from. Part of the reason US Jews are such a solidified unit is that they all relatively come from the same area of Europe (Russia, Poland, etc) I wouldnt be surprised if the majority of antebellum Jews in America originated from Germany and Central Europe.
Most of them were Ashkenazi's from Prussia
