mm, looks like hurricane o'clock is nearly here

me and mine rode out ivan and katrina here

though i had to turn in my man card after katrina, i caved and bought a generator

did ~15 days of no power with ivan, but the weather was mild enough to sweat it out

20+ after katrina, and i did two nights before i was waiting outside the home despot at open

slept in the bathtub the second night

it was misery

granted during ivan i was mostly doing gencon stuff, so the work was varied, i was mostly doing tree work after katrina and its a different kind of backbreaking

spend 14 hours in saw chaps clearing roads then come home to a house thats somehow hotter and more humid inside than out

yeah I've had snow storms before and lost power

would wake up shivering and exhausted despite sleeping for 8 hours

still there's no terrible gust

snow's one thing we dont get, and while it's novel, i have to imagine it gets real old after a few months

im beginning to think i wont even lose power on this little storm

i love 'the cold' but for me the cold is like 3 weeks of 30F weather so
