to be fair it sounds like they targeted just Charlottesville related people
but it's unclear whether the group actually threatened violence
Identity Evropa's discord got shut down
that just hits a little too close to home for me
it's hardly surprising when the way people get in is by invites posted on fucking 4chan or whatever open place you can find
yeah 4chan has some real fucking degenerates
unfortunately everybody here is from 4chan
eeeeexactly
not to mention, a solid 25% is agents and agitators
We might even need to move off of 4chan
or have an alternative
well if you guys have idea about where we can recruit, share it with us any time.
you got 2 options
one is keep the channel clean
the other is making everything private
and set up vetting before people can view anything
that said, discord-employeed would still be able to see everything
so if the channel got reported regardless, having it all private wouldnt help anything
privacy is more for protection of the people here
and obviously everyone should observe proper opsec as always
otherwise it's fine
as for recruiting I guess just referring friends is the best I could do
as long as this is operating on some proprietary platform
it'll never be safe or secure
the ONLY way is to build your own tool ENTIRELY
and have it run semi-decentralised, so that it can't be taken down (because its decentralised)
and you still have control over who can come in or not (hence, semi-decentralised)
@Dunkle How do you gain money from trading crypto (in the sense of how does it work)?
it all comes down to 'buy low sell high' in the end honestly
there's more to it then that, find cryptos that are undervalued, put money in, and wait for them to go up then sell
it's essentially no different from playing the stock market
If it's too decentralized, then you get issues in synchronous messaging... Lets say Alice, Bob, and Carl are in a chat room, it's completely decentralized so they each store the data for the chat history
but if alice and bob had a conversation, and neither are online, carl won't be able to retrieve that conversation's data
you could implement a decentralized blockchain, but then you have to incentivize people to host and compute all of those cryptographic messages, this is usually done with some kind of digital token
depends on the amount of users, your suggestion is countered by having a single accont that's online 'all the time'
if you want an experience like discord, then the only solution is to have a "single source of truth" (a central server)
having a chat thing on a blockchain is a terrible idea
you'd want the ability to purge anything
now, whether that can be like a minecraft server, where it's easy for users to just spool up, even keep it on a raspberry pi, that would be ideal
blockchain is antithetical to that
