i'm all for establishing a self-suficient community, but where? Will you still buy shit from the outside?

2017-10-21 19:06:07 UTC

The Pacific Northwest, and we'll probably establish ourselves in an already existing town.

2017-10-21 19:06:37 UTC

what state? what will you do about normies?

2017-10-21 19:06:57 UTC

Oregon or something, but we'll deal with normies as they come.

2017-10-21 19:07:04 UTC

are you gonna pay taxes?

2017-10-21 19:07:10 UTC

there will be normies....already in the existing town

2017-10-21 19:07:15 UTC

Obviously we'll have to.

2017-10-21 19:07:51 UTC

@dt read through the channels I mentioned

2017-10-21 19:08:02 UTC

a lot of these questions are answered there

2017-10-21 19:08:05 UTC

were not separatists

2017-10-21 19:08:10 UTC

well already oregon is off the map, state income tax

2017-10-21 19:08:11 UTC

washington has none

2017-10-21 19:09:51 UTC

no one will likely make enough money for it to be taxable

2017-10-21 19:10:35 UTC

that's unrealistic. the best idea is for everyone to set up internet businesses and collect money that way. then funnel it into the community.

2017-10-21 19:11:14 UTC

lol right

2017-10-21 19:11:20 UTC

ok so in the community why will dollars be the currency what use will they have unless you set a central bank to set currency levels

2017-10-21 19:11:35 UTC

there is the possiblity of going off-the-grid

2017-10-21 19:12:18 UTC

what i'm getting at - 100% off the grid will take a very long time. in the meantime cash will make up the difference.

2017-10-21 19:12:25 UTC

yes

2017-10-21 19:12:29 UTC

no bank - bitcoin my man

2017-10-21 19:12:43 UTC

yeha because your money is safe in btc

2017-10-21 19:12:55 UTC

In some permaculture communities I've seen they are still "on the grid" in the sense that they occasionally restock at town and need a small income, but mostly they produce their own goods and barter with eachother

2017-10-21 19:13:13 UTC

Barter is pretty top tier for a community like this imo

2017-10-21 19:13:45 UTC

^^

2017-10-21 19:13:48 UTC

agree

2017-10-21 19:13:50 UTC

@StaysafeTV - 191 lb Muscle Man yeah a currency can only be detrimental as it always is

2017-10-21 19:14:24 UTC

crypto can be used for barter and SHTF emergencies

2017-10-21 19:14:39 UTC

shtf like when the pwoer goes out and the internet goes down

2017-10-21 19:14:50 UTC

gold/silver are also an option

2017-10-21 19:15:55 UTC

@Orchid then anyone can crash your economy with bringing in a lot of gold...only goods and services with immediate and concrete calue would work

2017-10-21 19:16:21 UTC

nothing one person can hoard

2017-10-21 19:17:09 UTC

and satellites cant get shot down either..or once btc crashes they determine the satellite is best used for other services

2017-10-21 19:17:54 UTC

what i'm getting at - these discussions have to happen. all of these things should be planned out BEFORE mass movement

2017-10-21 19:18:06 UTC

I'm 100% onboard with creating a community, but right now we are nowhere near

2017-10-21 19:18:11 UTC

ok use potatoes or local caloric food as currency

2017-10-21 19:18:13 UTC

i'd be willing to do projects for neighbors

2017-10-21 19:18:19 UTC

the socratic method is essential for projects like this

2017-10-21 19:18:24 UTC

I already do stuff like that for a few families at my home

2017-10-21 19:18:27 UTC

barter should be encouraged of course

2017-10-21 19:18:32 UTC

@dt im playing along arent i
