migration/nations are just that same dynamic playing out on a huge level
unironically remove their right to vote or serve in government :^)
men secure the nation and hold the territory, women get to enjoy living in it
@Barry White @Bob Loblaw
Do you guys know why the Clergy wanted women to have the vote in revolutionary France?
To get their votes?
I have no clue
not sure
It's because they were the ones who were loyal to the Church and her traditions
we were all naive about women at some point or another
I think you could make an argument that the social orthodoxy was still leaning towards the church
I think historically women just follow the social norms
We should unironically discuss a US-Canada merger
Thoughts?
They have an open invitation to join the US
I would vote yes
>Put together, the United States and Canada would be a colossus, with an economy larger than the European Union’s—larger, in fact, than those of China, Taiwan, Japan and South Korea combined. We would control more oil, water, arable land and resources than any jurisdiction on Earth, all protected by the world’s most powerful military.
Far-fetched? Maybe. But consider this: Two Canadian prime ministers – one after the First World War and another after the Second World War – seriously considered proposing a merger with the United States. They did not proceed for political reasons.
I'm pretty sure the annexation invitation is still open
I like Canada, I grew up in Michigan and we used to go to Windsor all the time.
good people.
I think it'd be even more acceptable now than it wouldve been in the 40s
the state of the country is changing though and its getting overtaken by brown people who see it as an economic zone rather than a country
Its in a similar position the US is in
yeah
I never thought I would say we need more writers but we do need more people who can articulate the value of the character of the nation itself and really fight against the idea that our value can only be determined in terms of economics
In this article I was reading it brought up giving Quebec semi autonomous commonwealth status if this merger played out
so we wouldnt have to deal with secession bullshit
people coming here now are fundamentally different than immigrants even as close as 70 years ago because they do not value this country
Kinda like Puerto Rico
puerto rico does not deserve statehood
yeah no way
they only want it now because they fucked their entire infrastructure
doesnt even speak the same language
and they are stuck in the bed they made
its pretty pathetic
we'd have to give them hurricane money every month
and it'd be free democrat votes
From what I hear Canada is electorally in the same situation the US is too
we would end up spending billions rebuilding their infrastructure and then they would accelerate the dispossession of the native population in place of this kind of reconquista strategy that the hispanics are playing at
the major cities control the electorate
I mean I agree with what nick said in his show the other day
