that's true

2019-11-12 21:01:49 UTC

but you began the argument

2019-11-12 21:01:51 UTC

or the debate

2019-11-12 21:01:56 UTC

@CryptoCypher ok so lets say the earth is flat, why would the government want to cover it up

2019-11-12 21:01:59 UTC

about that particular topic

2019-11-12 21:02:00 UTC

like whats the reason

2019-11-12 21:02:24 UTC

thereby burdening you with the necessity of backing up your argument with proof

2019-11-12 21:03:10 UTC

@Santa Phil well, one reason would be the $50 Milllion dollars a day that NASA gets from tax payers! that's a pretty good reason isn't it? there's plenty more though

2019-11-12 21:03:23 UTC

But it is on some aircrafts, especially on the former Concorde flights

2019-11-12 21:03:33 UTC

but they don't get that money for the earth being round

2019-11-12 21:03:40 UTC

*this was a bad argument to start*

2019-11-12 21:03:45 UTC

not at all

2019-11-12 21:03:49 UTC

God that was too dumb and before it’s time, it’s a metal death trap imo

2019-11-12 21:03:50 UTC

Crypto how did the experiment go

2019-11-12 21:03:57 UTC

let me continue to read

2019-11-12 21:04:05 UTC

go do some research or something

2019-11-12 21:04:06 UTC

What are you reading

2019-11-12 21:04:10 UTC

stuff

2019-11-12 21:04:14 UTC

Ahh

2019-11-12 21:04:43 UTC

Well the windows from end is concave, and the other is convex

2019-11-12 21:05:20 UTC

I’ve seen windows be flat before, or at least appear flat

2019-11-12 21:05:33 UTC

Not from the outside, mind you

2019-11-12 21:05:48 UTC

When light enters the convex side it bends x degrees in one direction, when it exits through the concave side the light bends x degrees but in the opposite direction

2019-11-12 21:06:13 UTC

Meaning that the net changein angle is 0

2019-11-12 21:06:36 UTC

Note there can be magnification , but that is a linear transformation

2019-11-12 21:06:51 UTC

Which doesn't distort

2019-11-12 21:08:47 UTC

guess we can lay that argument to one side then

2019-11-12 21:10:16 UTC

So the view from airplanes is legitimate

2019-11-12 21:10:22 UTC

So there is a curve

2019-11-12 21:10:49 UTC

Does a flat Earth predict that curve?

2019-11-12 21:14:07 UTC

`. Chemically toughened glass. Annealed glass immersed in a bath of molten salt resulting
in an ion exchange between the salt and the glass. The composition of the salt is such that this
ion exchange causes the surface of the glass to be distorted (by expansion), thus putting the
surface in a state of compression. ` ... `c. Creep. The change in dimension of a material under load over a period of time, not
including the initial instantaneous elastic deformation. The time dependent part of strain
resulting from an applied stress. ` ... https://www.faa.gov/documentLibrary/media/Advisory_Circular/AC_25_775-1.pdf

2019-11-12 21:14:44 UTC

Okay?

2019-11-12 21:14:52 UTC

That talks about the formation of glass

2019-11-12 21:15:03 UTC

it talks also about distortion

2019-11-12 21:15:04 UTC

Not the way light flows through it

2019-11-12 21:15:06 UTC

Yes

2019-11-12 21:15:10 UTC

Of the glass

2019-11-12 21:15:16 UTC

Not the properties of it's optics

2019-11-12 21:16:03 UTC

also need to factor in the change in pressure within the fuselage as the aircraft changes altitude, the windows need to flex as a result of this change in pressure, obviously, any flex to the window will naturally cause changes to the shape of it
