I’ve gotten no good explanation for it.
you see something, with or without a telescope, and your brain/mind interprets what it is that you see
And because you have no other/better explanation for stuff "falling" to the ground, you keep thinking that gravity exists and that somehow peoves that the earth is globe.
How are you supposed to interpret a circular projection with shadows consistent for a sphere, as well as a front and back side consistent with a spinning sphere?
That’s not why i believe gravity exists
There’s no other way to interpret the projectile motion of planets
The problem is that our intuition often leads us astray
It may appear that we live on a flat surface, but i dont think that’s the case
We need to have words to describe things so we can communicate. ok, let it be gravity, why not. But that does not mean the earth is a globe.
If gravity exists, something as massive as the earth should be spherical. So you need some sort of explanation as to why it’s not a sohere
That is IF you follow the mainstream explanation of what gravity is.
and so you stay in the loop
Gravity is a well-established phenomenon
We can show you how two masses interact with each other based on gravity
as for today, it is no secret any more, that noone can define what gravity is.
yes we observe that phenomenon
I can define what gravity is
you can define what you observe.
It’s the force between any two objects that have mass
The attractive force*
Like, we can literally model gravity with math
We have equations to explain this, that work 100% of the time
Gm1m2/r^2
The equation for the force of gravity between any two objects^
ok, it does
Gravity is an apparent force, not an actual force
Just gonna clarify that
But your statement that earth has to be a sphere just because we observe attractive force which is very apparent, no doubt, is no relevant
we do not know the real nature of our enviroment beyound our perception
We have physics. We can model this stuff.
Anything as massive as earth will inevitably become a sphere
This is simple thermodynamics
I will guess that you already have come accross the fact that most of the truth that we got learned is based on theories and assumptions that those theories might be correct
You understand that “theories” in science are **incredibly** reliable, right?
This is for evolution ^ but it gets the same point across
No
Not right now, no.
