Due to people trolling more people are learning of the topic and are getting real curious about it

I've seen it happen in this server and the other one when trolls come in to only mess around but end up staying because they're interested

I would put trolls/shills in every chat room. both to disrupt but also to gather intel on what evidence people are using

so a narrative could be spun later to counter

What is Atmospheric Lensing?

I'm no expert in this phenomenon..but based on what I do know about light...

I assume it refers to changes in refractive index of the atmosphere due to temperature variations

and possibly moisture content

That's it! leading to heat mirages, usually.

which can then change the direction of a beam of light. we use this effect in some analytical instruments in the lab

right. that's what makes mirages look like "water"
