the sentence should be proportional to like likely hood of being guilty?
@Abe Lover That's not the point, the point is that people who are innocent can and have been killed for someone else's crime
I saw a documentary of someone who escaped death penalty because he turned out innocent. And he missed 30 yrs.
And than died two years later from suicide
And if there was no death penalty those people would be alive
You can't justify it
Assuming that they live enough to be innocent
Only 144
Abe you have a bad outlook on this subject
Not that big of a number
You act like it happens everyday
I didn't say it did
Death penalty still deserves to happen
Lifetime punishment they usually die in prison
Doesn't help the innocent either
There are people who are clearly innocent or have a lack of evidence but still die anyways
You said it yourself death penalty takes forvwr
It does take forever
You mean 144 people died?
Not everyone who is executed is acknowledged to be innocent
I'm sure the number is higher
So let them rot in prison
With other actual criminals
Why?
Probably beat up and dropped the soap
That's what your saying
That's not what I'm saying at all
Get rid of death penalty
So we get rid of death penalty than what?
I'm gonna make myself clear on the subject
Ok go ahead
There should be no death penalty due to the risk of executing the wrong person (innocent people) and it's promoting murder of others ("eye for an eye" most of the time). People who have done horrible crimes should be stuck in life time prisons in small rooms like the hole and made to suffer there for as long as humanly possible up until death
I used to be in favor of the death penalty as the sister of a murder victim. Once I got to know the justice system better, I changed my mind.
wah
Sorry to hear
Nope
So if an innocent ends up in prison for life
They'll be brought out
It is what it is. I try to use my experience to keep others from going through what I went through, but most people have to learn their own lessons anyway; so I don't even know if it's realistic to think that I can "help" others in any way anymore.
