get one where u can actually disable the battery

2019-11-09 15:04:49 UTC

They will legally allow that

2019-11-09 15:04:52 UTC

(for now)

2019-11-09 15:05:18 UTC

well it's standard around here....corner facing the street

2019-11-09 15:05:21 UTC

have them turn it so the side that plugs in is facing away from your house.

2019-11-09 15:05:52 UTC

And install a sheet of lead, or cast iron, etc about 2x3 and place it in between you and the house

2019-11-09 15:05:59 UTC

half inch thick

2019-11-09 15:06:20 UTC

mesh screen like for screen doors will block it

2019-11-09 15:06:37 UTC

Best you can do

2019-11-09 15:06:46 UTC

@AnOregonNationalist if the phone case gets a call while it's in it...it ain't shielding shit

2019-11-09 15:07:24 UTC

The meter can STILL tell what appliances you are using by power drain detection, so it can have some semblance of if you are home, and doing certain things like watching TV, using computers, but it cannot see who is doing it

2019-11-09 15:07:43 UTC

Yeah I don't have a mobile phone anymore, had one since mid 90's it is kind of interesting to live the old way when there aren't pay phones anywhere anymore

2019-11-09 15:07:53 UTC

most of the tech in my house is pretty low tech except for my pc and tv's

2019-11-09 15:08:15 UTC

The TV's pixels act like a camera lens

2019-11-09 15:08:19 UTC

it can see you

2019-11-09 15:08:28 UTC

so can the ir sensor

2019-11-09 15:08:37 UTC

and mics

2019-11-09 15:08:49 UTC

Mics in cable boxes were the form of spying in the 90's

2019-11-09 15:08:59 UTC

well my mic is old school so it has a switch option

2019-11-09 15:09:00 UTC

Where tF are the mics on TVs?

2019-11-09 15:09:05 UTC

Go buy an old ass cable box for $2 on ebay, open it up, you'll see the microphone module

2019-11-09 15:09:12 UTC

I use computer monitors as TV, no IR sensor and cameras on electronics get gorilla tape

2019-11-09 15:09:32 UTC

The mics now are tiny on the mainboards of TV's

2019-11-09 15:09:35 UTC

today

2019-11-09 15:09:45 UTC

but back then they were round black things off of the mainboard

2019-11-09 15:10:06 UTC

Similar to mainboard speaker/microphones

2019-11-09 15:10:10 UTC

They build mics onto the mainboards now

2019-11-09 15:10:15 UTC

impossible to remove

2019-11-09 15:10:22 UTC

well my tv is my pc monitor...but it's an older model...wifi don't work and i have to hardline it for any 'online' function but the software don't work for the 'smart-tv' anymore

2019-11-09 15:10:56 UTC

Yeah I have older equipment as well and nothing "smart" electronics wise

2019-11-09 15:10:57 UTC

I have rooms where I can speak freely

2019-11-09 15:11:02 UTC

and rooms where I cannot

2019-11-09 15:11:04 UTC

actually the speakers double as mic's now

2019-11-09 15:11:04 UTC

due to TV's

2019-11-09 15:11:14 UTC

Yeah that too

2019-11-09 15:11:29 UTC

And how long can you keep up the old equipment?

2019-11-09 15:11:34 UTC

several years maybe

2019-11-09 15:11:40 UTC

it will catch up to you

2019-11-09 15:11:50 UTC

used to work in sonar....i knew the range and limitations of both sonar and radar

2019-11-09 15:11:52 UTC

The only way to fix this is to make it all illegal
