tho i guess garming vivofit2 is equaly tolerable looking
(like id wear one ever~)
SPEAKING OF have they yet hacked those xiaomi bands to be less malwarey
i think there's a "tools and mi band" app that extends functionality somewhat and i think there's some FOSS app
but to hack the band itself? nah
i could use just foss /opensource app for it not necessary hacket watch i guess
something that does not call home evertime it thinks i have epilepsy in bed
mite work for you
ahh gadgetbridge is still the GoTo thing
nice
i wish they would add more views to miband, like i would want to change the light of my xiaomi led bulb from my wrist
i dont know if it is the goto thing
i havent used it in years
but it does have miband4 support
so clearly its still alive
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
oh huh wow
they fucking hermetically sealed that thing or what?
its kind of sad that pebble died
a company that promised the world to power users then did a complete 180
but i guess they gave enough support to show larger players that "these markets exist"
just like oneplus
good riddance
yeah if only some company would ever look at us powerusers on anything
we are just hinderance even if we happen to fix all their shit on their githubs :D
hiring fa/g/gots would not be a good idea
just give us /r/oot
im glad that xiaomi at least allows bootloader unlock as opposed to huawei and whoever else
For now :/
they'd be shooting themselves in the foot if they would take that away lol
sure the direction they take with xiaomi is more "wholesome consumer uwu" but to sweep away the power user/geek consumerbase of India, Central Europe, etc. would be suicide
not to mention all the mainlanders in Shenzhen that tinker too
Which company refused to shoot itself in the foot?
Apple?
Google?
Blizzard?
enlighten me pls
