Thinking this morning about works and the book of James, which I've always had trouble reconciling with the grace I see in the bulk of the other scriptures. I think what the Lord is trying to point out here, at least in part, can be summed up in the word 'attitude'. Attitude can be described as the place where 'motive' and 'objective' intersect. (more on this as I ruminate) Feel free to add your comments.

Simply put works are a natural product of faith. Look at the parable of the talents. Faith is a gift that is never earned though.

Please note; I'm not saying that there are not things that people consume that can make y sick and even kill you. Just saying if your heart is right God is greater than these things.

Please pray for my endurance. I have much yet to do before winter. Since back surgery and now a fractured pelvis I have been extremely slowed down (and the pain is no fun either). As I live alone there is no one to lay some of these tasks on.

@ShyPanther I pray, and it certainly seems to be the case, that God is guiding President Trump. There is a line, however, between praising God for what He is doing trough the flesh of a man and building up a worship of that man. It is the same dilemma facing any church who, seeing God work through their pastor, put him on a pedestal. God will share His glory with no man.

You may actually cause that man to fail by lifting him up.

I Support our President Trump but he is far from perfect and neither was Cyrus
