@Shadetree49 , those versus are held dear to those who prayed by most Christians, and especially for those Christians who prayed for a way to remove the carcinogens from the smokes that their loved ones were addicted to. Why other Christians can't appreciate the answers to prayers is beyond my understanding, just like those other Christians can't understand why Christians would pray for such miracles. There are miracles all around us if we only stop to look. Just bc they're not *the* miracle at *the* exact time we want *the* miracle to happen, doesn't mean that the *the* miracle isn't in the works. God answers prayers in his own way, in his own time. Cemeteries around the globe are filled with smokers who never heard about Christ. I guess we can say they quit cold turkey, but did they accept Christ before they did? Knowing that some people need the nicotine (found in a lot of veggies, btw), God answers prayers according to the needs of those who pray or who are prayed for.

I guess I'm pretty much of a fatalist. Gods plan is unfolding and will not be stopped. Those that are His will come. some still smelling of smoke. It is in that plan that I do my best every day to sow the seeds of salvation to all who will hear and, with as much as lies within me, to live unspotted by the world, so as to be a positive influence to others. Not to be judgemental. Just to show a better way.

Smokers come in all sizes, races and religions. Some have never heard the word of Christ. Some have, but their journey differs from others. They stopped drinking, cussing, raging, judging, coveting, stealing (even welfare is theft), lying (denial is lying), speeding, peeping, interfering, and every other 'sin' that God brought to their attention that they were doing, but there are still a few 'sins' left to go that they're not even aware they're doing. Some they do. That's where the vaping comes in. A way to satisfy the daily habituals without smelling like smoke. Some have never even heard of it before, others have been scared away from it thanks to junk science, spin doctors CDC, and MSM. If you're smelling smoke when we all get to heaven, then those are the ones we failed to help switch over to vaping or all you'd be smelling is strawberries and cream. (Dieters love vaping too, btw). Nobody says you *have* to inhale, or *have* to use nicotine, or *have* to only use certain flavors like tobacco... unless, of course, the banners get their way. They want to ban all flavors except tobacco flavors. If I was you, I'd jump in and fight for pancakes & syrup flavors if you hate tobacco smells as much as the Vapers do.

Oh I love that! That is so true, IF we get the lead out and start throwing those mustard seeds as fast and as far as we can. Helping the smokers live long enough to catch a seed is paramount or they won't know the truth, the way and the life... they'll just know they're gonners.

And those others who still smoke but who did find Christ, yes, they too are saved! They're on a journey towards being non smokers, there's no shame in that. It's all in the timing and it's our job to make sure they can bide some time before there's no time.

Smoking is not a sin, not even mentioned in the bible. Drinking is not a sin, only cautioned not to take it to excess. All these outward things are no more than hindrances to a good appearance before the world and will undoubtedly shorten your life.

Wow, that even describes vaping the nicotine eCigs. The smoker who switches over to vaping discovers that their body goes through the same healing process as completely quitting smoking.
@Shadetree49 , I agree! It's only a 'sin' after God points out to the individual it's a *sin* for them. Maybe they do it too much, spend too much, focus too much, ... over do it in ways that's not healthy at all for any of their relationships, including the relationship with self and with God. (we all do that with different habits at different times. We even have an addiction to Q).
Thank you for the conversation about this, it's been a long hard battle with the princes governors, captains and King's counsellers in trying to help the smokers who cannot or who will not quit, to switch over. My nerves sometimes rattle too easily. I suppose this conversation had to happen, so that I could pray for everybody's tired nerves and for more compassion from the nerve wrackers.

I find it difficult to rest when battling opinions that carry no weight, by those who carry a strong position of influence. (lawmakers, podiums, universities, msm, etc). I really need prayer to help me keep both feet firmly planted even when tired and frayed. Thank you for being you and for your helpful input during my times of snappiness. Prayer for you, our USA soldiers and families and for the safety of the knowledge of Christ Jesus as Savior. I don’t want people to follow me into sin- nor you. This conversation has been taken to heart; yet the knowledge of ones’ immortality is something that makes a person lose faith in God. Sin is what it is: and has always been a barrier between us and God. A simple thought can be a sin... but thinking is necessary. Cigarette smoking and use of tobacco products can help some people to stay awake and vigilant. We need people to be wary of overindulgence and excess- with prayer and preaching, as well. Winning souls for God cannot be done with excessive forced opinion and dangerous damnation of others constantly. I am sure I am more worried about other health problems than what tobacco can inflict. I don’t condone sin of any nature.

And what of the people who have seen God in their dreams? God reveals Himself to His Beloved however He can. Peace, Love , and Goodness From Him To You I pray in my imperfect being I WILL NEVER GIVE UP PRAYING FOR OTHERS TO LIVE BETTER AND HAVE A BETTER LIFE THAN I HAVE. Taking charity (welfare) when you have no other choice is NOT theft. Not in a civilized society.
