Aside from polishing my practical strength I can't find any other justification to make a permanent commitment. I used to be very dedicated to this shit but now I'm trying to figure out why ive been so out of place even stepping into a gym. Mind you I'm far from out of shape. Don't have the strongest brute strength but all around I'm in damn good slender shape

Also just reached my mid 20s.

2019-10-29 04:05:45 UTC

Well there are many positive health benefits to working out

2019-10-29 04:05:55 UTC

increased testosterone for one

2019-10-29 04:07:35 UTC

obviously you must have had some motivation to build it in the first place, why did you want it originally?

Well my particular jobsite is all manual labor so I guess that can be added into the fitness aspect. I used to train heavy at a local boxing gym in my early teens but stopped going after high school due to not wanting to risk any injuries. I also ran track as a distance runner and picked up skateboarding which i still do to this day(not running though).

2019-10-29 04:12:28 UTC

I guess I wanted to build it because I was curious to see if it was something that I can revisit and feel at home again. I didn't talk to anyone in school and had no friends so boxing was my only place of solace.

2019-10-29 04:18:10 UTC

But now the older that I am I've begun to see the idiosyncrasies of fitness culture and just how vain it all is. I can't shake the thought that I'm selling out when stepping into a work out atmosphere.

2019-10-29 04:23:51 UTC

And I think it's partly that way because the activity just doesnt align with my current worldview. You know that feeling when you try to play all those old video games you grew up with as a kid? But then it all just feels so depressingly futile. It's that hustle and bustle of your adulthood pulling you from the magic like a fucking magnet. You cant ever go back. It's just not the same

2019-10-29 04:25:39 UTC

I guess that's something

2019-10-29 04:25:46 UTC

Maybe try HEMA or Combatives

2019-10-29 04:25:57 UTC

That way you can always work towards being the best that ever was

2019-10-29 04:29:36 UTC

I can see some functionality to your suggestion. But that's exactly what I mean, bodybuilding itself and that kind of pursuit leads to a toxic often self destructive pursuit for results that are by no means practical or very functional from a survival stand point

2019-10-29 04:33:35 UTC

The fuck you gonna do as a bodybuilder when a depression hits your country and the food supply gets exhausted? All that muscle is too high maintenance and just accounting for the amount of dedication reaching a roadblock in that scenario is disencouraging.

2019-10-29 04:34:02 UTC

If you go HEMA and Combatives you can murder people when SHTF

2019-10-29 04:35:10 UTC

You guys ever run into the problem of being denied service at a restaurant for dining alone?

2019-10-29 04:35:16 UTC

Yes

2019-10-29 04:35:42 UTC

Its usually lower class ones

2019-10-29 04:35:53 UTC

Upper class ones don't care so long as you can afford it

2019-10-29 04:36:27 UTC

Just got back from Vegas I had to lie to the host and tell her that someone was going to meet me there then advise them that the second party cancelled

2019-10-29 04:36:39 UTC

Nah. Bot wanting to leave tips is reason enough for me to not frequent restaurants

2019-10-29 04:36:47 UTC

Not*

2019-10-29 04:37:45 UTC

Frequent resturant visits are what I avoid

2019-10-29 04:38:05 UTC

When I say "Lower class" I mean its mostly mom and pops that have limited space

2019-10-29 04:38:13 UTC

Yea I enjoy eating out on vacation

2019-10-29 04:38:24 UTC

They get more money per table if its a group vs one

2019-10-29 04:39:47 UTC

Drop a complaint and see if you make headlines for bachelor dinner discrimination

2019-10-29 04:40:11 UTC

Probably not

2019-10-29 04:40:31 UTC

I just avoid them like the plague cuz they dirty

2019-10-29 04:40:40 UTC

Waffle House has never let me down

2019-10-29 04:41:31 UTC

@cyano0126 you can always do some Calisthenics work out to keep your body in shape, it doesn't even require the weights and stuff, only working out with your own body weight, altough you already wasted money in building your own personal gym

2019-10-29 04:42:48 UTC

OOF

2019-10-29 04:43:16 UTC

Body weight exercises are pretty good

2019-10-29 04:43:25 UTC

Convict Conditioning is a good book

2019-10-29 04:43:37 UTC

Despite the former DDgay endorsement

2019-10-29 04:43:43 UTC

Biolucker I wouldn't really say it's money wasted. I sometimes use it, but I got more satisfaction from seeing that my roommate has gotten more use out of it than me. If it means helping a brother out im more than good

2019-10-29 04:44:18 UTC

Lmao i pinged someone else xD

2019-10-29 04:44:42 UTC

Well, as long as you give it use it isn't a waste

2019-10-29 04:46:00 UTC

Also bodiweight exercice it's pretty cool and free, you just need some horizontal bars and you are good to go

2019-10-29 04:46:02 UTC

Yeah, gotta polish up that 1-2 punch and that left hook of mine. Still got very good hip motion for that extra power.
