``" It is an ecosystem enabling personal data ownership"``

2019-04-15 10:11:52 UTC

it is an ecosystem enabling us to own your data

2019-04-15 10:11:55 UTC

well played

2019-04-16 11:54:55 UTC

The owner of the company where I work (ish) told me he's been offered 12,000€ for the Domain of his company, because it's a 3 letter dom

2019-04-16 11:55:07 UTC

Apparently those are incredibly rare these days

2019-04-16 20:33:37 UTC

he should sell

2019-04-16 20:40:38 UTC

Why

2019-04-16 20:40:44 UTC

It's his company domain

2019-04-16 20:40:57 UTC

It's not that much

2019-04-16 20:41:00 UTC

<:think_madpepe:378717098630971395>

2019-04-16 20:45:02 UTC

its not that much if his name is successful, sure

2019-04-16 20:45:18 UTC

and he probly makes more than that in a month i suppose

2019-04-16 20:50:48 UTC

Yeag

2019-04-16 23:57:58 UTC

back in the days of AOL and AOL Instant Messenger, people bought and sold screennames, sometimes for a lot of money

2019-04-16 23:58:45 UTC

the heirarchy was common words and acronyms, low character words, words, multiple words

2019-04-16 23:59:29 UTC

some sold for over 2k to the right people

2019-04-16 23:59:44 UTC

I would expect good domain names to be worth way more

2019-04-17 07:09:00 UTC

what a cheap bastard

2019-04-18 03:28:58 UTC

tfw trying to use wine on debian and nothing is working
check version, it's like 1.9 or something, wine is already up to 4.6

2019-04-18 03:29:07 UTC

smh

2019-04-18 04:15:14 UTC

@Tero just compile wine yourself bro.

Or if you're feeling lazy, download the latest .Deb package

2019-04-18 04:15:45 UTC

did the latter
just surprised the debian package is so out of date

2019-04-18 04:25:46 UTC

Raw Debian is pretty barebones and hyper focused on stability

2019-04-18 04:26:54 UTC

i guess if stability means not updating a major package for 4 years >_>

2019-04-18 04:28:32 UTC

That's the most stable version, broo!
Every version after that had too many new features that might have possibly caused crashes with other software.

Debian is autistic about stability.

2019-04-18 04:29:13 UTC

that is pretty autistic

2019-04-18 04:29:16 UTC

I usually go lubuntu or some other light desktop variant of Ubuntu

2019-04-18 04:29:49 UTC

Unity is a garbage desktop manager

2019-04-18 04:29:52 UTC

doesn't ubuntu just use debian stable packages too?

2019-04-18 04:31:21 UTC

Nah, they're managed by Canonical. Different organization, different standards. Similar codebase.

Ubuntu usually packs more recent packages. Debian has the benefit of being more streamlined.

2019-04-18 04:31:59 UTC

Like all things Linux, it comes down to personal choice

2019-04-18 04:33:22 UTC

sometimes more a drawback than advantage

2019-04-18 04:34:15 UTC

just had a look at ubuntu's current version of wine and it is better, at 3.0.3-2

2019-04-18 04:34:18 UTC

still a bit behind

2019-04-18 04:37:21 UTC

I've not tried to use Debian as my main gaming system before. My need to Linux was satisfied when I bought every iteration of the Raspberry Pi.

2019-04-18 05:13:30 UTC

all i can say is, don't @DOSagain
a lot of fanboys will tell you it's great now but they're lying

2019-04-18 05:14:13 UTC

i changed over to linux main when microsoft was pulling some shifty tricks to get people onto windows 10

2019-04-18 05:20:29 UTC

Yeah, just bought a new laptop that comes with Windows 10. I'll deal with it once I turn off all the Microsoft spyware
