.50 BMG isn't right for SHTF imo, I'd want something that's fast and easy to operate, reliable, light and with ammo availability enough to last me the duration of the fan

My dad has a .416 M99

It groups WAY better than any 50 load

We even ladder tested the 50 with different bullets

The .416 groups way better at post 1,000 and reaches out to some ungodly effective range...like 3,500 or some shit...I dont even know what its effective range is...But its superior to the 50...the 398 gr Bullets ballistic coefficient is superior

here's a thought, .50 BMG is not designed to be particularly accurate. It's a HMG cartridge later used on anti-materiel rifles.
