that's fair

2019-04-05 12:02:43 UTC

which makes saying shit like "50bmg is over hyped. 416 Barrett is the superior round" plain jane idiotic

that is a fun rifle

2019-04-05 12:05:18 UTC

katanas are over hyped, a toilet paper is the superior butt wiping appliance

2019-04-05 15:08:05 UTC

I think there is a mag-loaded ar-15 upper (bolt acion)

2019-04-05 15:09:38 UTC

yah, same company makes a mag-fed version

2019-04-05 16:03:47 UTC

Bolt AR?

2019-04-05 16:20:34 UTC

yah mag-fed bolt ar .50 BMG

2019-04-05 16:37:27 UTC

you can't double tap with a bolt action if that's what you're referring to

2019-04-05 16:48:41 UTC

yes I know, I like the mag fed version so you don't continually have to load rounds into the chamber like a fucking single shot shotgun

2019-04-05 16:53:01 UTC

ok, bolt actions without magazines are generally high precision/high camo kit. i'm not sure what kind of distances you'd have to work to necessarily need a bolt action instead of a semi.

2019-04-05 16:55:58 UTC

They're fun.

@TwinVickers the 50 might've been designed as an HMG round, but we ain't using shitty mil surp rounds out of it🤣 They make Rounds specifically for long range shooting, and they still suck compared to the .416 or .408 cheytac

2019-04-05 19:05:01 UTC

The thing is...Why do so many countries adopt the Barrett and McMillan .50s, as a heavy sniper/anti-material, when it's not the best option?

2019-04-05 19:10:54 UTC

I'm trying to think of what the .50 bmg does that those rounds won't

2019-04-05 19:11:37 UTC

Even armor penetration

2019-04-05 19:11:56 UTC

If the military adopted the .416 and made an AP round, that is

2019-04-05 19:12:26 UTC

So the .50 doesnt even have Anti-Material going for it

2019-04-05 19:14:21 UTC

...

2019-04-05 19:14:23 UTC

Oh

2019-04-05 19:14:29 UTC

And btw

2019-04-05 19:14:40 UTC

maybe just that they've been making it forever?

2019-04-05 19:14:43 UTC

Twinvickers is a retard

2019-04-05 19:14:54 UTC

The .50 is most definitely overhyped

2019-04-05 19:15:20 UTC

Specifically in the amateur LongRange community

2019-04-05 19:15:32 UTC

And the normal Gun Community

2019-04-05 19:16:38 UTC

my understanding was that the .50 is really only good for light armored vehicles and infrastructure

2019-04-05 19:16:49 UTC

and that it's not a pinpoint accuracy weapon

2019-04-05 19:17:01 UTC

because of the crazy shit they have to do to make it work

2019-04-05 19:17:57 UTC

Dont get me wrong, it's still accurate...Its just, not that accurate...The grouping is inferior to the .338 lapua at practically any range

2019-04-05 19:18:08 UTC

Or even the .300 win mag

2019-04-05 19:18:27 UTC

Keep in mind the 50 can reach out much further than the 300 win mag

2019-04-05 19:18:41 UTC

right, that might not matter if you're blowing up a transformer at 1500 yards or something

2019-04-05 19:19:29 UTC

True...But atleast with a .416 you get all the advantages of the .50, with godlike accuracy and grouping

2019-04-05 19:20:24 UTC

It's just funny to see the M82 Barretts effective range being the same as a .300 win mag🤣 like only 1800 yards🤣

2019-04-05 19:20:26 UTC

right, I don't think you need a 600+ grain projectile to take out a transformer

2019-04-05 19:20:35 UTC

or some kind of infrastructure like that

2019-04-05 19:20:46 UTC

The semi-auto Barrett sucks...idk why but they group like horseshit

2019-04-05 19:22:00 UTC

Atleast the McMillan 50 and M99 bolt action 50 seem far more accurate...But that can be due to individual rifles...I just have yet to see an M82 that doesnt have the grouping of a child with cerebral palsy at 1600 yards
