I considered 50BE
but I already loaded 45-70
so I went after 458 socom
@Broo TulsiGang 2024 π¬π§ πΊπΈ I've got one of those Rugers
In a bigger caliber
@OliveBlanc solid choice. Only reloading 300 BO atm so my options are open
Fuck off, get yer own!

My replica of Goerge S Pattons peacemaker
I reload everything
It's good experience
and it's way cheaper in the long run
I actually just recently started doing en masse .45acp
I'm gonna fuck with my mister bulletfeeder and make it feed .458 so I can make shitloads of .458 socom soon
Recently for cheap match ammo I went to the 68gr HPBT w/c
It's a really nice projectile, all of my barrels like it so I decided to keep it permanently in circulation
I need to find a good time to order bulk (4500 projectiles)
right now I've just been doing orders of 500 every 3 or so months
I primarily shoot SS109 and 62gr hornady JHP's
I also reload
Because I shoot some EXPENSIVE ass cartridges
Also reloading and ladder testing is the only way to truly reach your rifles potential in long range shooting
My 338-378 wby, 340 wby, 7.82 Lazzeroni warbird, 7.21 Lazzeroni warbird, 300 wby, and 6.5Γ270 wby(wildcat) were all ladder tested because they're all long range shooters...also the ammo is insanely expensive
yay replica
Yeah I would reload with weird shit like that
I found with many ladder tests of 338 lap that it's severely minor once you find the sweet spot in your ideal velocity block
I dunno if you shared a similar experience
but once I found a projectile and a velocity I wanted, it seemed like no matter what powder I chased, the same seating depth was always on the button best
I'm super happy that my sako's mag can take it too
I was thinking of making my own mags because the berger OTM's "ideal" is probably a hundedth longer COAL than my mag supports
sadly/luckily, after much sampling, it seems like my rifle doesn't like them as much
and my groups widen to .7's and higher, especially when warmed up, what it doesn't do with SMK's
Or the lapua 300gr projectiles
The lapua ones are really nice but it's way too expensive to regularly shoot
I wonder if I could make a gas delayed forward holding 9x19 AR upper that doesn't require anything super special
