And the devs are highly active/responsive.

Also Divinity: Original Sin 1 & 2 were kickstarters

most of my Kickstarter backings have been books or board games as they are mostly safe but Im still waiting to see how the remake of System shock is going to play out

I have mostly only backed Games. But only if they seem a sure bet. I have heard plenty of horror stories for board games tho.
