both main parties know they can't afford to have an election right now - they want the people to take out their anger on the EU elections so they can maintain their useless status quo in Westminster.
The funny part though is that if we Brexited the day after the EU elections, the British MEP's would still get paid until the next EU elections...
...but that does suggest any Brexit delay will last as long as an EU election cycle.
This means our involvement with EU military integration is solidified - by the time we do get Brexit, we will be told by then that we cannot withdraw from EU Defence Initiative on the grounds of national security.

My seat is close run between Lib Dems and Tory... Tory boy is pro Brexit, so it might be worth me voting for him to try to stop another Lib Dem seat gain.
