there was another interesting one, knee surgery, whole class of surgeries shown to be no better than placebo after decades
nobody bothered to do a mock surgery to see if it did anything

I've tried multiple alternatives, from psychotherapy, to medication, to relieving the other shit I deal with. None has helped.

But the HRT has created a marked improve in my overall mood after changes started surfacing, so it's working for me, which is all I care about.

You can do a fake knee surgery and the person wouldnt know that you didnt do the thing. You can't do a fake genital reassignment surgery without someone realizing they still have their genitals.

I mean I have to agree with Tero here. It's Medieval. Like leaches. There is one treatment we are allowed to use and we do not compare it to other methods because doing so is verboten. In gender re-assignment or in leaches it's the same anti-scientific approach.
