piss off, im getting better

2019-04-30 18:10:13 UTC

Also "Revolutions" are usually tied to the end being a Democracy
While "Coup" is usually seen as military Coups, and end in Totalitarian Dictatorships

2019-04-30 18:10:32 UTC

While reality they should be interchangeable the connotations prevent it

2019-04-30 18:10:49 UTC

what about proletariat revolutions?

2019-04-30 18:10:50 UTC

so its literally just optics

2019-04-30 18:10:57 UTC

sound bad to me

2019-04-30 18:11:28 UTC

@galesteppes It would be Bad, but they use "Revolution" to make it sound good and grow support

2019-04-30 18:11:38 UTC

i guess the difference is that people will often refer to themselves as fighting for revolution, as revolutionaries
nobody wants their government takeover to be called a coup

2019-04-30 18:11:39 UTC

It would more be the Proletariat Rebellion

2019-04-30 18:12:42 UTC

why dont we just use "Freedom Fighters" & "Bad guys"

2019-04-30 18:13:13 UTC

because you need to hide your bias

2019-04-30 18:13:22 UTC

otherwise the normies will be unconvinced by your propaganda

2019-04-30 18:13:34 UTC

We use all of them. But you have to remember, One group can be called both, by 2 different viewpoints

2019-04-30 18:13:57 UTC

It doesn't become set in stone until a winner is found

2019-04-30 18:15:09 UTC

then whats a neutral term?

2019-04-30 18:15:35 UTC

war

2019-04-30 18:15:45 UTC

fighter

2019-04-30 18:16:01 UTC

combatants

2019-04-30 18:16:12 UTC

ah! combatants

2019-04-30 18:16:18 UTC

i like it

2019-04-30 18:16:28 UTC

sounds strong

2019-04-30 18:24:07 UTC
2019-04-30 19:14:38 UTC

Speaking of coups.
It's worth watching the whole thing, but I'm linking at the most relevant part.

2019-04-30 19:51:18 UTC

so..

2019-04-30 19:51:51 UTC

why is the US doing a regime change in soon-to-be-"independent" venezuela?

2019-04-30 19:53:02 UTC

The US isn't the only one who backs the Interm President...The world Minus China, Russia, Turkey, and some random socialist/Islamist nations have all backed it.

2019-04-30 19:53:14 UTC

Oh and the Holy See, cause the Pope is a Socialist.

2019-04-30 19:53:28 UTC

so the US and its allies/client states back the regime change

2019-04-30 19:53:29 UTC

Mexico

2019-04-30 19:53:45 UTC

not unlike libya, iraq, etc.

2019-04-30 19:53:50 UTC

syria

2019-04-30 19:54:03 UTC

Bit different there. Many nations were against it.

2019-04-30 19:54:07 UTC

Mexico hasn't backed him... could be interesting how this reflects on US mexico relations

2019-04-30 19:54:29 UTC

Didn't mexico do what the Holy See did?

2019-04-30 19:54:35 UTC

And chose neither side?

2019-04-30 19:55:38 UTC

Mexico has not backed Guiadó as they side more with Maduro, just not publically

2019-04-30 19:57:13 UTC

Wait no, they did publically. Apparently his predicessor was Pro Guaido, but wanted Peaceful Resolution. But Amlo went full ham for Maduro.

2019-04-30 19:59:53 UTC

Also Tero "Turkey" is supposedly one of our allies.

But the ones against just want clearly wanted a satellite state.

But tbh, Venuzueala was an inevitable. The nation has been in gradually worse shambles for a very long time. Unlike Syria and others that were decent economically and then insurgency.

2019-04-30 20:00:43 UTC

It was an inevitable steamroll from when Madero began seizing production.
