and yes, retaliation up to and including tactical mcnukes is justified

2019-05-13 09:31:37 UTC

NAP is stupid, and ignores reality.

2019-05-13 09:32:10 UTC

Its a good "Aspiration" but like Communism not rooted in basic human nature.

2019-05-13 09:33:16 UTC

it also completely breaks down when you begin to think about whether you can respond to imminent threats of violence, and projecting that forward to implicitly likely future harm

2019-05-13 09:33:48 UTC

because at that point many things could be considered aggression worthy of being responded to

2019-05-13 09:33:55 UTC

It becomes even more broken down when you remove things like Government/Consolidation of powers

2019-05-13 09:34:13 UTC

Because there is nothing "Bigger" there to enforce it.

2019-05-13 09:34:24 UTC

nah dude the private military corps and international federation of independent courts is a great system

2019-05-13 09:34:55 UTC

everyone will just agree to get along and totally not going to be loads of warlords and shit running around in a perpetual arms race

2019-05-13 09:35:03 UTC

Sure it is...When that Private military becomes warlordism

2019-05-13 09:35:04 UTC

<:makes_you_think:382980749780844554>

2019-05-13 09:35:18 UTC

And that independant court gets bribed to kill you for your land

2019-05-13 09:35:28 UTC

But aside from that

2019-05-13 09:35:30 UTC

that wouldn't happen because.. reasons

2019-05-13 09:35:31 UTC

Perfect system

2019-05-13 09:35:49 UTC

"that would be too damaging to their reputation, and insurance companies wouldn't deal with them"

2019-05-13 09:35:54 UTC

Kinda like "Communism would work if implimented right......and if there wasn't scarcity"

2019-05-13 09:36:52 UTC

Or humans

2019-05-13 09:36:57 UTC

Prolly more the latter

2019-05-13 09:46:12 UTC

Humans are the problem

2019-05-13 09:46:46 UTC

Comunisim works with hive minded organisims

2019-05-13 10:00:14 UTC

hives are all typically comprised of direct genetic relatives, like a family

2019-05-13 10:00:44 UTC

There are no true hive minds...

2019-05-13 10:01:04 UTC

Technically speaking...Even among colony creatures they still have some independance.

2019-05-13 10:02:56 UTC

`Many insect species, including ants and bees, work together in colonies, and their cooperative behavior determines the survival of the entire group. This type of interaction has been likened to that of a single organism, with each individual in a colony acting like a cell in the body, giving rise to the term "superorganism."`

2019-05-13 10:05:57 UTC

Yes cooperative. But they are all individuals still and individually problem solve ect.

2019-05-13 10:06:13 UTC

Their communication and goals are just clearer

2019-05-13 10:06:45 UTC

Kinda helps that only queens and elates breed

2019-05-13 10:06:54 UTC

individual maybe, but not unique individuals
all the workers in a hive are genetically very similar, probably almost identical

2019-05-13 10:06:55 UTC

Less worry about propogation

2019-05-13 10:09:55 UTC

Well unique by what metric? Biologically sure, cause they are spawned from the same genetic code repeatedly. However 2 ants for instance facing the same issue will come to different results on overcoming it. I get the meaning there and it's true you could liken it to a super organism. But not what I was getting at.

2019-05-13 10:10:53 UTC

Hive mind is very particular to where all thoughts are one, and all controlled from one point. Ants while close, still break that mold, though slightly.

2019-05-13 10:11:10 UTC

Anywho off to bed.

2019-05-13 10:13:14 UTC

`Hive mind is very particular to where all thoughts are one, and all controlled from one point. Ants while close, still break that mold, though slightly.`
yeah
i think it's more that they appear to act as one, because the genetic code is all so sameish they respond to the stimuli the same way

2019-05-13 10:16:20 UTC

there's no command structure really standing over them making demands and such

2019-05-13 10:19:37 UTC

in humans we can achieve a similar result either through reasoned application of some principle, or by an extremely complex hierarchy of command

Ok that's aggression

That's destruction of muh property
