By neutralizing the German and French need for expantion? French have no concerns about a german attack, even the most ardent realist agree that the EU brought peace to Europe

So let's just meld France and Germany into one country and then millions won't have to die again

Germany as much as France acted in a way to benefit themselves. They had the opportunity to become a regional hegemon and tried to, just as France under Napoleon.

The EU was created to break this rationale

Germany is no longer concerned with becoming a regional hegemon

Realism inside of Europe is no longer present

That makes no sense, thats just appeasement
