today i learned. i didn't think it would be as clear cut. just another example of fake news.

That was spin put on that innocent comment, by people who want conversion therapy banned

and the press wonders why they're getting called the enemy of the people lol

The accusation was made by *another* person (a Senator or Mayor or something from CA) that he 'supported conversion therapy'

And the 'proof' he provided was that one of the planks in Pence's platform when running for Gov was that funds should be used for 'alternative solutions' or some shit,

which suddenly got extrapolated into 'Pence wants to zap gay people'

when, as a devoutly religious person, most likely implied that he wanted it to go out to various foundations or some shit

pray the gay away, that sort of thing

Which, whilst I still find *that* silly, is somewhat *less* controversial than *electrocuting gay people*

But the key is optional

I think it even became 'parents will be allowed to force their kids to undergo conversion therapy, and the state will pay for it' or some nonsense

None of it even as gov was a mandatory thing

I'm saying he didn't even say 'optional gay zapping'

But he never advocated for electro

I don't recall him ever even saying 'conversion' of any sort
