If we can get more renewable energy cell or storage technology, I'd support it a lot more.

they say that these energy cells polute more then carbon
since they leak chemicals when they degrade

Honestly though we need to look to space for more heavy metals.
One asteroid could give us relatively pure heavy elements ready to go, last us for a while.
The more we refine on the planet, the harder it is to salvage.
