what we call human rights in the west, have been carved out and defended with countless life's in the past

2019-10-13 01:19:09 UTC

And in a state of nature, you would defend with your life the things that a normal person would state you have a right to

2019-10-13 01:21:32 UTC

Well I mean you can't really defend if you're a slave in an authoritarian country

2019-10-13 01:21:45 UTC

That's why we go to war for breaches of human rights

2019-10-13 01:22:25 UTC

We can't exactly let the holocaust happen again because the people being oppressed can't defend themselves

2019-10-13 01:22:32 UTC

only if they have oil they dont want to share

2019-10-13 01:22:39 UTC

Amen

2019-10-13 01:23:33 UTC

2019-10-13 01:24:18 UTC

and holocasts have happend several times after ww2. it just that it did happen where we did not care about

2019-10-13 01:24:40 UTC

Yeah

2019-10-13 01:24:51 UTC

But that was after nukes were invented

2019-10-13 01:25:26 UTC

Cant go invading commie countries with ussr threatening nuclear war

2019-10-13 01:25:35 UTC

So sad

2019-10-13 01:26:12 UTC

true. that and who cares about Africa in general

2019-10-13 01:26:38 UTC

@vaibhav265 wait, so we can finally have IRL hunger games?!

2019-10-13 01:26:48 UTC
2019-10-13 01:28:16 UTC

Im sure the US government is going to ignore that and fuck over anyone that tries to steal their monopoly on legal murders

2019-10-13 01:28:33 UTC

Oh if you talking about Africa. I mean we factory farm animals all the time

2019-10-13 01:28:37 UTC

No need to worry

2019-10-13 03:34:19 UTC

@Fitzydog As others have stated, not everyone is able to defend their rights. This does not justify taking them away. Sure you can argue that devoid of a civilized society, these people (disabled especially) would just die. But we don't live in that system, do we?

2019-10-13 03:36:15 UTC

@EnderOctanus you think the republicans have a chance to unseat the current gov?

2019-10-13 03:36:59 UTC

So why bother making any sort of distinction? Human rights in my eyes are basically the rights we have in the Bill of Rights, along with ethical things such as providing humane treatment to humans. Drinking water and food, not causing undue suffering, etc. I feel that that is a fair way to define human rights.

2019-10-13 03:37:13 UTC

Unset?

2019-10-13 03:39:50 UTC

I'm not sure what you're asking. I think there are just as many Republicans that are too invested in the way things are as there are Democrats. I think that Republicans are also really inept at governing in general. Some people argue that that is the point, an ineffective government being better than a competent corrupt one. I disagree. Sometimes that can be true but it's certainly not a rule.

2019-10-13 03:41:08 UTC

Republicans also seem to be very happy to sit on power without trying to do anything to affect change while they are able to do so. That bothers me.

2019-10-13 03:41:56 UTC

You also have the deep state, unelected officials. That's something I can't see any political party resolving either way.

2019-10-13 03:42:11 UTC

`Republicans also seem to be very happy to sit on power without trying to do anything to affect change while they are able to do so.`
huehuehue

Food and water isnt a human right. If there were no government, food and water isnt anything you just have.

2019-10-13 03:42:41 UTC

You have to work to gather food and water regardless.

2019-10-13 03:42:54 UTC

it's almost like the people and ideals they're serving aren't what they let on publicly

2019-10-13 03:43:00 UTC

almost..

2019-10-13 03:43:37 UTC

My point was that if you, for instance, are holding prisoners, or are taking care of sick people, you need to provide for the life necessities for them as they cannot.

2019-10-13 03:43:57 UTC

Prisoners could work for food.

2019-10-13 03:44:20 UTC

And sick people pay for their care.

2019-10-13 03:44:27 UTC

To refuse to do so when you are capable, would be evil. And sure. But you'd still not let them outright die.

2019-10-13 03:46:01 UTC

Of course you yourself would also have to be capable of providing these things for it to be truly evil to refuse to provide it where necessary. If you are starving I won't blame you for feeding yourself over others first.

2019-10-13 03:46:13 UTC

"Human Rights" to me are things you would have if there were no interference from anyone and without real work. Namely speech, self defense, ect. Then there are "Constitutional Rights" which expand on that to include rights you should have under the state. Ie fair trail ect.

2019-10-13 03:46:26 UTC

you swamp brain nigga, there's an election in your state tonight
