And I was all 'yay I should buy one'

2018-03-25 06:50:47 UTC

Also, from an Oz GC website:

I find it 'interesting' they would use such a graph

2018-03-25 06:51:13 UTC

considering it shows that TAS passed new gun laws in 1992

2018-03-25 06:51:19 UTC

When the massacre happened in 1996

2018-03-25 06:51:34 UTC

And it also only lists firearm homicide rather than homicide in general, although perhaps we're not supposed to notice that

2018-03-25 06:51:36 UTC

they should ban holding your pistol sideways like in movies, as it increas4es your accuracy by several orders of magnitude

2018-03-25 06:51:39 UTC

They don't include a lot of other shooting events

2018-03-25 06:51:51 UTC

Oh it's probably cause it cuts off at 2006

2018-03-25 06:52:15 UTC

That chart mirrors the rates of every other western country

2018-03-25 06:52:20 UTC

Ooh, but I want this stat for all homicide. They need to show a drop in actual body count

2018-03-25 06:52:33 UTC

The US has the same trend sans bans

2018-03-25 06:52:52 UTC

it would seem to show a decrease in homicides but only in the short term and never falling to an alltime low

2018-03-25 06:53:16 UTC

`Cairns child killings 19 December 2014 Cairns, Queensland 8 1 (self-inflicted by perpetrator) Stabbing attack and Familicide. 8 children aged 18 months to 15 years killed. Thirty-seven-year-old woman also found injured. The woman, Raina Mersane Ina Thaiday, was later charged with the murder of the children, 7 of whom were hers, plus her niece.`

2018-03-25 06:53:18 UTC

Mass shootings are statistically irrelevant

2018-03-25 06:53:33 UTC

wait does that mean theres aussie gangsta rap?

2018-03-25 06:53:52 UTC

If you look back at Australia's history though they never really have had a problem with shootings, the amount they currently have after the law change isn't any change from what it had been for a long time before the law change.

2018-03-25 06:54:02 UTC

@M4Gunner It's made by white people

2018-03-25 06:54:06 UTC

Less than 1% of 1% of homicide in the US is mass shootings

2018-03-25 06:54:11 UTC

why do you say mass shootings are statistically irrelevant?

2018-03-25 06:54:19 UTC

Because they are

2018-03-25 06:54:30 UTC

some white rap is ok

2018-03-25 06:54:30 UTC

They make up a tiny fraction of total homicide

2018-03-25 06:54:57 UTC

true

2018-03-25 06:55:08 UTC

Have a listen

2018-03-25 06:55:12 UTC

lol thx

2018-03-25 06:55:21 UTC

get my wigg on

2018-03-25 06:55:39 UTC

Homicide is the lowest it's ever been in the US

2018-03-25 06:55:42 UTC

From what people have told me he actually is a criminal

2018-03-25 06:55:45 UTC

yes

2018-03-25 06:56:00 UTC

The US homicide rate is not higher than other countries with similar income levels

2018-03-25 06:56:18 UTC

Gun ownership geographically has no impact on homicide rate

2018-03-25 06:56:35 UTC

There is no correlation between legal gun ownership and crime

2018-03-25 06:57:06 UTC

In fact the inverse is true, the places with the strictest gun laws have the worst crime

2018-03-25 06:58:27 UTC

ive done stupid s††† in my city i'd never pull somewhere where people actually own guns and shoot trespassers

2018-03-25 06:58:59 UTC

As the final nail in the coffin, despite the fact gun ownership in the US is 3 times the rate it was in 1950, homicide is the lowest it's ever been

2018-03-25 06:59:32 UTC

If you exclude "problem cities" the US crime rate is comparable to western europe or even better
