I started using Propellerhead Reason when I was 12
@Deleted User try Goldwave, good trial version wont stop you from using it when it runs out
https://www.goldwave.com/
Reason or Ableton
But Audacity is just for audio editing, you want a DAW/Sequencer like FL, Reaktor, etc if you wanna make beats or songs
Ive played live on Ableton once, hardly know how to use it
Reason has always been well-respected but I'd sooner dip into Reaktor personally
i have instruments and an audio interface that I just hook up to audacity. I can record without a computer, but it's just easier to edit.
Okay. youll want a multitrack sequencer for editing then
Ableton would probly be great but ask someone who use it more
There might be good software specificially for recording live instruments.
unfortunately audacity has a slight delay if I use it to record directly, so I have to run every instrument to a guitar amp if I want to stay in time
You know, I really hate actually using Audacity, though its nice that its free
do you know how to set your latency?
does you amp color your sound undesirably?
I dont technically need to use it since I have a 24 track recorder, but it's way easier to edit
the amp is just for me to hear, it doesnt record to audacity, i have a direct line to the computer and one for the amp.
if youre recording guitar, you like to record the guitar sound as clean as possible? I know some poeple will prefer recording from amps but it turns into a kind of art form
I like a lot of distortion and processing pedals so i personally would record from amps and just not be able to fix much in post
Like I said I dont record it through the amp, the amp is just a way for me to hear the audio and stay in time. I record directly into a recorder I have, and that is hooked up to a computer. So the sound isnt distorted at all
but ive also never worked recording live music so dont listen to me
Basically I have two cords, one records clean audio, and the other just goes to the amp. hopefully that makes sense.
yeah
what kind of music
post-hawaiian jazz
i am interested in post-hawaiian jazz im an artfag
mostly rock, and I recently got a keyboard so I've been doing some more synthy stuff. I'm really bad about actually finishing songs though, so I have about 100 unfinished songs taking up space lol
yeah i think most people have 100 unfinished songs
probably
its good to filter your efforts based on how much you like your initial results, so things that dont impress you enough dont tend to get finished
and then youll have a lot of, this is brilliant for 45 seconds, and i just dont know what else to do. those ones hurt alot.
yeah, I have a handful that have enough merit to finish, the rest I'm pretty much over
the ones that hurt me the most are the ones that I forgot how to play
It's another layer of grief to go first relearn the parts I recorded and then finish the song too.
maybe you should write tabs
thats one problem i'll never have, though i forget what i actually did constantly

im probly gonna learn to read piano tabs eventually
you want us to move @Deleted User ?
If you’re talking about music, there’s a dedicated music channel
what's up with guys who always play the female character in video games?
