I think it could be argued that many people have debunked it, but whether or not there has been some sort of 'official' debunk is another thing

suffice to say that it was written by a guy who worked at repair depots

and only got to see tanks sent there after being salvaged from the battlefield

hindsight is 20/20 when you have a machine thats been thoroughly stress-tested
