Here's where Mageia makes the most difference: it has a "Mageia Control Center"; most of the configuration tasks (video, network, network sharing, date and time, disk partitioning, printers management, etc) are done there, using GUI. If it needs a package, it prompts the user, "xyz needs to be installed to proceed, Ok, Cancel?" Not once it let me down, of some 17 years of using it.
And if you look for support, they don't tell users to go hunt down `/etc/...` files.
