the blockade was more efficient in WW1 because Germany never actually managed to blitzkrieg the entire mainland

the only thing the blockade did was sharpen the oil shortages the Germans were experiencing

they rejected hitlers offers for piece and had no national interest in protecting poland and cuasing this ordeal especially because poland provoked and attacked germany first
