The woman isn't identified according to the local news
So they're trying to demonize upper caste men?
They don't know the name
Simply where she came from
Let me use an analogy to show what happened
Imagine a guy got shot
Ok
And he came from luton
They don't know his name
The headline reads "Muslim man gets shot"
This is what happened
ah india still has a caste system. everyone have a caste system tbh but you can move up and down
Not rrslly
Caste doens't mean Class
And you can move up or down
marriage
aint merit
As long as you can afford the education
money
A shudra can becomes priest if he wants to
I still don't get it

@HungBunny k back
Hinduism began in the vedic ages, 1500- 500 BCE
At the time, the universities in india that you needed to attend in order to advance in society, were very expensive
As such, the only people who could afford to get educated were the people with rich parents already
And for others, the fathers and mothers began teaching their children their professions
And families began being related to professions
For example, In the state of Karnataka, the name Iyengar is related to bakeries
and in Kerala, the name Nair is related to warriors and Nobles
Over the years, these became the castes
The families which had been historically poor, the servant classes, were resented by the families that were historically rich and vice versa
The priest and educated families became the Brahmin caste
The warrior and similar families became the Kshatriyas
The tradesmen classes became the Vaishyas
