I don't believe that story as far as I can throw it. Teachers are biased as sin and try to push their bull on kids but I dont belive for a second without proof that one would be so blatant

Perhaps it's not the best method to just look for conservative teachers by asking if they're conservative, but rather asking if they're willing to teach/supervise the YAF

My history/civics teacher once discribed political philosophy as "Looking at a malformed tree. The conservative wants to leave it alone to grow as it will. The radical wants to chop it down. And the liberal wants to trim the tree so it grows in a heathy way"

Worst part is he was probably my best history teacher of the lot.

nah the conservative wants to keep the healthy trimmed tree in peak condition whilst the liberal would like to experiment with it and see how that works out
