And yet ideologies like communism and anarchism still prevail

2018-09-18 23:29:10 UTC

But with little or no power @A Random Crusader

2018-09-18 23:29:22 UTC

Just because something has failed does not mean people shall not sympathize

2018-09-18 23:29:31 UTC

We are in a comparatively stable era

2018-09-18 23:29:43 UTC

No but we know *why* it failed and we can avoid it

2018-09-18 23:29:59 UTC

There can be no revolution without a reason to rebel

2018-09-18 23:30:19 UTC

Once major problems arise people will start pointing fingers

2018-09-18 23:30:23 UTC

Yea but when and if a revolution comes I can assure you it won't be fascists

2018-09-18 23:30:45 UTC

The communists will blame the capitalists, the fascists will blame the jews, and the anarchists will blame the government

2018-09-18 23:30:51 UTC

Fascism is despotism with a bureaucracy

2018-09-18 23:30:54 UTC

The border proposal is a major win for us though. The EU being willing to do customs checks away from the border means we can tell the soft Brexit crowd to completely fuck off

2018-09-18 23:31:19 UTC

Especially not in the west, we have tasted liberty and we will never give it back up, unless the authoritarian left isn't stopped soon

2018-09-18 23:31:47 UTC

That's not to say we still won't give it up

2018-09-18 23:31:53 UTC

Fascism combines the worst elements from capitalism and socialism

2018-09-18 23:32:02 UTC

It's openly pro-corruption

2018-09-18 23:32:36 UTC

The real tipping point with gaining sympathy for failed ideologies is when adherents can successfully bury, obscure or euphemise what that failure actually represents. Which in the case of fascism and communism is millions of dead people. There is sympathy for bad ideologies as long as you can detach them from their consequences. That's why fascism is fucked but communism still has breathing room. Academics lie about communist brutality.

2018-09-18 23:33:11 UTC

@Roarey See also: Making holocaust denial illegal. It made things worse

2018-09-18 23:33:28 UTC

Yes which is why so long as we have free access to non-biased information fascism will never rise again

2018-09-18 23:33:55 UTC

Making ideas illegal in general must be avoided @Fitzydog

2018-09-18 23:34:05 UTC

Well, yeah.

2018-09-18 23:34:10 UTC

@Fitzydog indeed, people thinking they can use the government to ban an idea instead of having the intellectual courage to challenge them in open forum

2018-09-18 23:37:13 UTC

Have any of you read book about fascism

2018-09-18 23:37:28 UTC

The idea of holocaust denial is a joke. The attitude and rhetoric and policy of the nazi government towards Jews is incontrovertible, so the idea that it would be sensible to apply a humane motive to a government that caused the entire world to burst into fucking flames is pure insanity. Delusional tripe.

2018-09-18 23:37:52 UTC

Yes, we must be open

2018-09-18 23:37:57 UTC

>have any of you read book

2018-09-18 23:37:59 UTC

Big English

2018-09-18 23:38:09 UTC

2018-09-18 23:38:26 UTC

Just Anglo trap

2018-09-18 23:38:27 UTC

It's a tad important here

2018-09-18 23:38:32 UTC

2018-09-18 23:40:08 UTC

Makes no difference how much people have read about fascism. The results of it tell the story XP. No getting around it, no excusing it.

2018-09-18 23:40:09 UTC

**Tanya#6526** was cleansed from the server.

2018-09-18 23:40:26 UTC

Can you not use XP in every damn response?
