I'm hardly a proper fascist
More of an authoritarian tbh
I will call D'Annunzio and tell him to go commit suicide
I mean is anyone here under the impression that fascism isnt a failed ideology that will never possess serious power ever again?
Give up @A Random Crusader we got owned
What is the point in humoring them?
The most important thing, in my view, of any system is its underlying principles, the foundations of it. Getting lost in details is a smokescreen that has been employed for decades in universities to make socialism and postmodernism appear sensible by way of making it complicated. The details, numbers of cited authors, reams of rhetoric matter not a jot if the principles underlying an ideology are bad ones. Liberty succeeds, tyranny does not. Even without applying reasoning like an academic, history attests to the truth of it. No need to make it complicated unless it is ones goal to hide their own corruption.
Fascism will not rise again as it did in Germany, Spain, or Italy if modern trends continue
I can sympathize with the ideals but I doubt it will actually manifest
Holy shit the EU is actually conceding on Brexit
It won't rise anywhere ever because we have been collectively immunized to it because it's already been shown to fail, much like communism, monarchism, anarcy etc
Hell has frozen over lads
About damn time
It's just despotism with extra steps
You just generalized all of humanity as a collective with a single political viewpoint
Identity-based ideologies are cancer
No, I'm saying you can't in the modern age defend fascism as a practical system of government
Not without a gold medal in mental gymnastics
I'm honestly hoping my country just pulls a no deal Brexit at this point. For me the EU has insulted my country enough, it ought to be told to fuck off and stew in its own hubris.
And yet ideologies like communism and anarchism still prevail
But with little or no power @A Random Crusader
Just because something has failed does not mean people shall not sympathize
We are in a comparatively stable era
No but we know *why* it failed and we can avoid it
There can be no revolution without a reason to rebel
Once major problems arise people will start pointing fingers
Yea but when and if a revolution comes I can assure you it won't be fascists
The communists will blame the capitalists, the fascists will blame the jews, and the anarchists will blame the government
Fascism is despotism with a bureaucracy
The border proposal is a major win for us though. The EU being willing to do customs checks away from the border means we can tell the soft Brexit crowd to completely fuck off
Especially not in the west, we have tasted liberty and we will never give it back up, unless the authoritarian left isn't stopped soon
That's not to say we still won't give it up
Fascism combines the worst elements from capitalism and socialism
It's openly pro-corruption
The real tipping point with gaining sympathy for failed ideologies is when adherents can successfully bury, obscure or euphemise what that failure actually represents. Which in the case of fascism and communism is millions of dead people. There is sympathy for bad ideologies as long as you can detach them from their consequences. That's why fascism is fucked but communism still has breathing room. Academics lie about communist brutality.
@Roarey See also: Making holocaust denial illegal. It made things worse
Yes which is why so long as we have free access to non-biased information fascism will never rise again
Well, yeah.
