New Zealand politicians, like many people in politics, fail to understand that when you remove a tool from wide use, the criminals still have access to them.

For example, if you made lockpicks illegal, you will inevitably find criminals that make their own lockpicks and will eventually find designs in lockpicks that make them impossible to find on a stop and search.

All banning lockpicks will do is remove MANY businesses that make money off of people that make a mistake with a lock they own.
