also, 3 books,
chapter 6 on my narrative one about a knight in a medieval fantasy world
then there's the one about how to construct a civilization from the ground up, only a few chapters into that one, lots of handwritten pages and charts to format
then there's the one that's just a rulebook for a pen and paper game

2019-05-05 14:43:44 UTC

that one is done

2019-05-05 14:44:38 UTC

I have read so many goddamn history books

2019-05-05 14:45:01 UTC

You would find Dwarf Fortress to be very interesting, it has a Legends mode in its procedurally generated worlds with prodecural civilizations. Every person has their history recorded.

I keep trying to get into it but the ascii art throws me off every time

2019-05-05 14:45:37 UTC

There are tilesets

2019-05-05 14:45:50 UTC

Have you tried the Lazy Newb Pack?

2019-05-05 14:46:04 UTC

Makes it so much more bearable

2019-05-05 14:46:05 UTC

also I don't really play games very much for the past few years due to aforementioned books

2019-05-05 14:46:18 UTC

the pen and paper game took me 2 years and that was the first edition

2019-05-05 14:46:22 UTC

working on 2e now

2019-05-05 14:46:31 UTC

Cool.

looks like you like that game

2019-05-05 14:47:12 UTC

I should find you the story about how a fortress was ended by giant carp.

2019-05-05 14:47:21 UTC

I fucking love it

2019-05-05 14:47:59 UTC

One of the recent updates added temples and libraries, scholars, and literature.

2019-05-05 14:48:13 UTC

Music and poetry

2019-05-05 14:48:31 UTC

damn

2019-05-05 14:48:45 UTC

You have people that worship different gods

2019-05-05 14:49:17 UTC

I always told myself I would never write more than a single sentence exemplifying any literature

2019-05-05 14:49:26 UTC

since it would be a slippery slope trying to do that

2019-05-05 14:49:52 UTC

I'll get as specific as I can, but never actually write any contents of any book

2019-05-05 14:50:06 UTC

You don't get to read a book but it gives descriptors of the works, which actual people write in the game.

2019-05-05 14:50:10 UTC

aah

2019-05-05 14:51:12 UTC

Topic, the quality, the name, who wrote it when and where, if it is an original or copy, what sort of medium it is recorded upon, length, etc.

2019-05-05 14:52:10 UTC

I think I'll probably try to avoid that as well for the civilization book, but for the pen and paper game I think it's a good idea for another chart

2019-05-05 14:52:30 UTC

also, I have never before realized that I need 3d spreadsheets until I started making a rulebook

2019-05-05 14:52:41 UTC

Some are about historical events that you can look up that really happened, like a giant murdering a city, or how to train and domesticate a cave turtle.

2019-05-05 14:53:24 UTC

the creator of this sounds awesome

2019-05-05 14:55:46 UTC
